09.04.2014 The death metal album of the year was released on the first day of 2014. I knew that the moment I listened to the first song off the album. Do yourself a favour and LISTEN

Rating: 7 Forgot about this record until I saw the album art, but yeah, it's a good one.

Rating: 9 This album has some of the most incredible death metal riffs I've heard in years. The first song is a straight 10/10 in my books. But the whole album, minus perhaps one or two songs, is incredibly strong. Seldom do I listen to an album 2-3 times in a row, but this is the case with "Sinister Ceremonies".

Rating: 7 Kind of a bit early to be calling on AotY, death metal or otherwise

Oh. My. Fucking. God. This is incredible music. The first record I listen to of 2013 could potentially be the best.

N ot much of a difference if you ask me...

"could" and "potentially" being the operative words there

Pretty good stuff - nothing too original but then again it's not trying to be. It gets a little stale toward the end, I probably would have enjoyed it more as an EP with about half the material.

Totally agree, the track 'Domains' really reminds me a lot of Lightning Swords of Death, their tone is almost identical and the singer sounds similar.

Definitely a solid album at any rate! Absolutely worth a listen.

That track Daniell linked certainly isn't doing it for me. Will pass on the whole thing.
