The hope here is that the progenitor of Nevermore can be revived. Will we find Sanctuary again after all these years? Unfortunately not. Consider Refuge Denied.

Listening to Into The Mirror Black and Refuge Denied again in anticipation of this... There's a high chance I'll be disappointed, since they can never top those...

Never expected it to top their early works, but this is beyond average.

If you expected something similar to Nevermore... you're wrong. This is different.

Although I prefer Nevermore... I've liked this album.

Wow, this is so much Nevermore..

That's exactly what I'm hearing. Nevermore without the instensity.

Seems decent enough.

So, they never should have called it Sanctuary, even though the line-up is for most parts Sanctuary and not Nevermore.

no one said they should call it differently. it's just that it's less speed/power metal and more of the Nevermore-developed style..

As someone who never got that into Sanctuary, and who has lost a bit of his enthusiasm for Nevermore, I really didn't have high hopes for this, and actually considered giving it a miss. However, I really quite enjoyed it - I think Warrel sounds great on this, and I really dig some of the solo work on it. It's not amazing or anything, but perfectly decent and I preferred it as a listening experience to quite a lot of this year's releases from some other older bands.

Its sad that this is last from this band, its different as old ones 80's one, but this is a blast killer album. Now I appreciate this more as back in those days when it was out. Its brilliant masterpiece, there is term true metal,. and you can see, hear and feel it when it comes to music.

I was hoping this would have been more similar to their first two albums. Nothing impresses about this album especially and the songs sound pretty mediocre to me without much audible sign of enthusiasm to them. While I didn't find any of the songs really good, I guess I wouldn't call it as bad either, for now. So as a listen it's kind of a drag, and I don't find many good moments from it.
