Staff review by

Four years have passed and 1349 greet us with a new album, entitled Massive Cauldron Of Chaos. Although being a black metaller through and through, 1349 was never my cup of tea. When yearning for some True Norwegian, yet "not-so-special" but more straightforward black metal, I mostly put Ragnarok into my player, which I think to be quite similar to the band discussed today. However, from now on I will have to keep an eye on them, for the new album isn't bad at all.

Rating: 6 Pretty mediocre. Pretty sure Postmortem is the only song I'd go out of my way to listen to again.

Rating: 8 This is an album that just keeps getting better after track 2. from track 3 and out, it's truly a great album. I the first two were as good as the rest, I might have given it a 9.

Rating: 8 Excellent return to form. Best tracks for me are "Cauldron", "Exorcism" and Mengeles"

Rating: 9 Good work. This should make those that belittled this band to swallow their words. 1349 might not be an inovator, nor a pioneer of the genre, but they sure can put out a solid and raw black metal output.

Yeah, this is a pretty good return to form. Not as epic as Hellfire but better than what came after it.

Hex_Omega - 23.10.2014 at 14:12
Rating: 8 Surprisingly good. I thought its gonna be crap, but its not.
