Timeless, yearning, nostalgic, and burning like a fire on the shoreline's edge that doesn't quit no matter how hard the waves crash, Triosphere's third full-length is so solid I am unable to choose my favorite songs, and instead am left just saying "all of them."

It's definitely good but I just can't get into. Same as the last one. Can't put my finger on what it's missing for me. The songs are a little samey but at the same time I can recognize and appreciate their differences... it just doesn't speak to me. Maybe I'll spin again another day.

Loses a bit of steam in the last couple of songs, but this is really one of the most enjoyable power metal albums from the past few years, and gives me hope that the genre still has more greatness to offer me. Haven't heard the full albums of most of the other PM MS Award nominees, but judging by the couple songs of each album I checked out, this one sounds far more inspired and impressive than any its competitors. Need to get round to listening to The Road Less Travelled now

This album goes from 7 to 8 for me just because of the guitarist. That guy has some cool riffs but mainly remarkable guitar solos. Whenever some of the songs started to get boring, the guitar solo kicked in and really made the difference."Breathless" is my favorite track and that is mainly because of that amazing guitar solo and interlude in the middle of the song. It is a good song by itself but the solo makes it a great song. Furthermore, the songs on this album were much more enjoyable than the previous one. The only thing that doesn't stand out are Ida's vocals. While I can tolerate her because she sounds more like a metal singer than symphonic diva, her vocals are limited and not that interesting.

Also have you noticed that Norwegian guitarists have a really specific spacy and cool sound and make great guitar parts. Take Pagan's Mind, Circus Maximus, Triosphere etc... the guitarists are really unique and skilled in their own way. Just an analysis.
