Apparently Steven once said that he would rather make the listener feel something than write some "complicated shit". While the musicianship on Hand. Cannot. Erase. is certainly of high quality, I would say that he succeeded in his aspiration to make an emotionally gripping album too. Another good release from one of my favorite musicians. That said, I don't think that this album is mind-blowing, it is great, but not incredibly great.

Ancestral live version is unbelievable, one of the best performances I've ever seen https://youtu.be/qFwcahcDzP4 Edit: Although I have to add that this album is a little weak, and some tracks a pretty boring. If it wasn't for the aforementioned "Ancestral", "Transience" although it's a short track, the title track is okay as well and the other 2 longer tracks "Home Invasion" & "First Regret" are worth repeated listed but nothing mind blowing. I prefer "To The Bone" or "The Raven" over this one to be honest.
