Helloween returned in 2003 with their tenth studio album "Rabbit Don't Come Easy". This was a somewhat complicated period for Helloween as Roland and Uli has just left to make their Masterplan project a full-time band, and so recruited former Freedom Call guitarist Sascha Gerstner and had originally replaced Uli with Mark Cross - but mononucleosis prevented him from continuing with the band and also had to leave.

For a helloween album, man this sucks...from the album cover to the lyrics...a true stinkfest. Although, ive gotta say, some great melodies, here

This was actually one of my very first Helloween albums. I know it inside out, therefore I like it a lot.

Same as Baz here, plus it was one of my first metal albums in general. Think it's the only Helloween album that I can remember all of the song melodies from off the top of my head.

Guess I've got to eat my words.....I really like this album. Unlike most Helloween fans I'm not a big fan of the Dark Ride and am glad they returned to their lighter/happier roots on this one

The album cover is pretty bad, and the lyrics are a bit iffy at times, but musically, it's mostly awesome stuff. I also prefer this one to The Dark Ride, although I like that album too.
Having Mikkey Dee on drums just makes it sound even more great! It's a shame he couldn't permanently join the band after recording this album...

Written by mcm on 29.09.2012 at 19:12 This album was very much underrated (probably due to the cover, a lot of people like to judge an album by the cover).
I don't compare this album to The Dark Ride as the later was overrated. Master of The Ring is a closer match with RDCE.
This album is out of print for almost 8 years. At the moment in the market, only the Argentina's label Icarus is printing it. Frankly, I dont really like this label, their production is not that good.
I do think "The Dark Ride" is a bit overrated, but for the most part, it is a very good album. I'd say RDCE is like a mixture of MOTR and TDR. And "Back Against The Wall" is actually heavier than most of the tracks on TDR.
I bought the album when it was released (I have the digipack with "pop-up rabbit" insert, and bonus track), though it does surprise me to hear the album is out of print... :\
