The promising work of Between The Buried And Me's early work eventually led to astonishing achievement that was 2007's colossal Colors, a staggering concoction of ferocious metalcore and progressive metal with a whole load of weird thrown in.

It's funny how some people still consider Between The Buried And Me a metalcore band, while what I hear on their last few records is progressive metal with occassional screams.
As for Coma Ecliptic, actually it's currently my favourite of the band's catalogue. Maybe it's just me, but it seems to be the closest one in its vibe to the classic progressive rock bands.
My favourite tracks: Coma Machine, Famine Wolf, The Ecoptic Stroll, Memory Palace, Option Oblivion.

To me one of the most underrated prog metal albums of all time. I love their heavier stuff as much as the next guy but Coma is just so unique. I love the obvious old school prog influence, as always the musicianship is A+++, and it just sounds like an album that will be remembered as a classic years from now.
