This album is amazeballs if you like fusion of atmospheric black metal and folk. It's super cheap too. Full review on Metal Archives and [http://metaltrenches.com/reviews/simply-stunning-18]here[/url].

Those vocals however...

And reminds me of Thy Light - another good South American band.

Decent, if slightly uneventful and monotonous. Agalloch does a far better job at executing this style.

Favourite album of the year in its category. Perfect from every aspect.
And about people comparing it to agalloch, well, why don't you campare for example 1989's Death angel with slayer (a top band that year). Cannot put a good release in the same basket with a band that made this genre popular..

Well my friend Agalloch is all time best band in their genre. But I believe this album can be considered a very good start toward this road.

Why can't you compare the two? They're attempting the same thing

So, other parameters must be ignored? Are you considering this as a poor copy of Agalloch? When you make an overall valuation of an album in my opinion there are other facts that someone could also look for, such as the time been releases, the genre approach, the theme, the production, even the county meaning his available references and many more I am forgetting at the moment.

Excellent album, I don't see how it could be compared to a poor copy of Agalloch tho...

Just reviewed this one again, it's an outstanding album! A rare hidden gem of black metal, the songs are just beyond epic, with the title track being one of the most majestic and beautiful songs I've heard in the genre.
It has a great dark atmosphere and the folk elements make it outstanding to listen to, and although many consider this a cheap version of Agalloch, I have to disagree, this is a lot more blackened, the riffs are heavier and longer, and the production is deliberately more raw sounding than Agalloch, and I don't really hear that many similarities between them tbh, other than the folk elements, to me this sounds more like Drudkh!
