Really good album, easily as solid as Mechanize or Archetype, but comparing it to Demanufacture or Obsolete seems a bit of a stretch, really...
Mechanize sounds less cheesy to me for some reason even though this album sounds quite similar to it in general

maybe that's because I feel Mechanize was very slightly more guitar driven? Anyway, while don't really feel any cheese here, I guess we agree

Best album of 2015 for me.Fear Factory waaaaw

Btw. "Genexus" and "Battle for Utopia" sounds like a hidden message from Dino to Herrera and Wolbers - "guys, with me as a main composer Transgression would be much better album"

Where?

In fact, Trasngression would be much better with Dino.

Oh ok i tought you said there was a real message. About Transgression, I never heard it full only some songs and it didn't sound so bad but it's far away from this or Mechanize

With Dino as band member, Transgression would have never happened. That album is not only poorly produced, it doesn't even sound like Fear Factory at all.

Gnexus is the beset and most industrial the band has released since Demanufacture (which remains high, in part because it was so innovative)

This album is definitely in the top three Fear Factory albums for me. This is a great and a very welcomed effort.

Their best since Demanufacture. I'd probably put it over Obsolete, to be honest.

No way I could agree more with that statement, but you haven't rated it. Is it a 9 or 10...?

I'm now thinking I didn't rate it high enough.

Absolutely amazing album, this is like the best of rammstein + static x combined!

Come on, no offence meant but don't compare industrial pioneers like Fear Factory to these bands.

Haven't listened to the full album yet, but it sounds good, maybe no as fast as I expected, but really inspired. Lots of clear vocals and we know that Burton isn't so good at them live but who cares ?

This is the first time i hear Fear Factory - so i didn't really have anything else to compare to ;-)

I didn't feel offended, nor did you I hope But I've followed Fear Factory since 1995 maybe so I guess I'm a sort of longtime fan

Seems like i have a ton of catching up to do then :-D

(PS: Not offended, thanks for asking!)

I suggest you listen to their second album, DEMANUFACTURE, released in 1995. The band will be touring to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album ! They will play the full album live.

I listen via youtube. I agree when Joe zombie said that Fear Factory have a formula that works, but IMO this album is not so better than the others. I don't know, but the first half of album sounds me like Divine Heresy (a band that I don't like) and the second half sounds me like a very better version of Digimortal.
Listen, in any moment I said that Genexus is a bad album - actually is so good - but it's not like Demanufacture or Mechanize. For example, Mechanize made me run to the CD store and buy it, while Genexus will be like a Christmas gift.

Yes, i agree, Mechanize is more like their masterpieces Demanufacture or Obsolete in comparison with this.
