Although most ppl believe that Painkiller is the best Judas Priest album but IMO it's their best work by far !

This is what British Steel should have been- It is the perfect combination of mainstream accesibility and metalic furry. Even the more commercial tracks, such as You've Got Another Thing Coming and Bloodstone. have enough force behind them to appease to metalheads. Not to mention a far superior performance from every band member- Hey, this album actually has lots of solo's, which British Steel sadly lacked, and wailing vocals from Halford.

Although I slightly prefer "Defenders Of The Faith" over this one, it's still an absolute classic, filled with absolutely amazing songs! Songs like the title track and "Devil's Child" are a bit undervalued in Priest's catalogue, but are every bit as vital as accepted classics like "Electric Eye" and " You've Got Another Thing Comin'". Priest have recorded several albums that deserve to be called seminal, and classic metal albums, and this is definitely one of them.

So, you admit that Painkiller lays down its sword to the awesomeness of Screaming?
Awesome!

I stand by mine too. Painkiller is THE metal album IMO. It has everything. Just everything. Screaming's good, but nowhere near Painkiller.

What's wrong with "(Take These) Chains"? I think it's an awesome song! Although I can see how people who have an aversion to more commercial sounding stuff wouldn't like it.

Because whilst I think Defenders is a slightly better album in terms of really strong songs, it also contains one song that I don't like. Screaming... has no songs I don't like, but I feel it's amount of truly great songs is slightly less than that of Defenders.

Yeah i agree. I think both albums are on the same level, and to me on top of the list of best heavy metal albums ever made but im curious what's the song u don't like? Heavy Duty? cause Pain And Pleasure isn't any better ...

The song I don't like is "Heavy Duty". And whilst "Pain And Pleasure" is perhaps the weakest track on Screaming... I'd take it over "Heavy Duty" any day of the week! lol
