I find this somewhat weird approach in song writing, I suppose it's a bit darker and less epic sound, but ends up being rather dull. IMO only the last two songs sound like something like in their past albums and those are to me the highlights here.

I have to agree, I just say they get old, its hard write and write so epic, maybe better get rid of epicenes and put some heaviness there?
