In 2015, Belgian Bathsheba with their two-track EP, The Sleepless Gods, showed some great potential for the future. Two years after, the full-length has finally been released. Servus, as it is called, didn't disappoint and even exceed all the expectations. Michelle Nocon's haunting vocals are strong as ever, the riffs are heavy & memorable, and an occasional saxophone licks ("Ain Soph") just complete the whole musical experience. Servus definitely going to be a strong contender for doom metal album of the year.

Her female vocals are actually not annoying. Very cool album.

Already got the CD and it's quite great. Glad to see them on MS and can't wait to see them at Roadburn.

Yeah this is really good. Reminds me at times of SubRosa and other times a tiny bit of Obscure Sphinx, but they have their own sound too and I'm liking it a lot

Sold. I have it on my hard drive - yet to spin it. Something I would dig then yes?

Guess it depends if you like SubRosa or not :p but if you've got it on your HDD worth giving a go - you'll know by the first song whether you'll like it or not

I wonder who did the artwork. Is there any credit for it in the booklet? It could be the work of Jarek "Khaal" Kubicki...

Just checked and the artwork was actually done by Olivier Lomer-Wilbers, who you might know as Olve J.LW from Emptiness/Enthroned

I'd never guess! But it has some Nothing But The Whole vibe in it.

Every female fronted doom band does not sound the same, in both sound and quality this is miles away from SubRosa.

Even if its a horrible rule it works quite well - if the rest of the female fronted doom band consists of guys who earlier played in average stoner bands its probably average. This is quite good though.

I like it Heavy in some parts, light in others. Here voice is decent to above average. The production is really good.

This year's greatest surprise for me!
Can't stop listening to this record. Quite captivating and, while it seemed a little boring at first, gets better with every spin. Surprisingly vocals are not annoying, but quite decent. Great potential. I'm already waiting for more....
