Very good production, but pretty uninspired songwriting unfortunately...

The brilliant execution and the great production save this album from being average, not really inspired this time.

Resounding return to form. Odd time signatures, and doesn't sound like every other album they ever released. This may be the best production I've heard on a metal album. This makes my factory grade vehicle speakers explode (in a good way).

I wasn't expecting much, but this is an excellent release. The production and differing time signatures across the tracks make this one of their more memorable albums.

Another great album from Belphegor. They are one of those rarest bands, that do not change their style and don't disappoint their old fans and I respect them for this. Look for Behemoth, they slowed down their style with their recent albums, their latest album "I Loved You At Your Darkest" is a total disaster. Same happened to Satyricon. From Black Metal they went some Black n' roll style. Same with Dimmu Borgir. These bands don't care about their old fans. Shagrath even said that yeah he's aware that he lost old fans, but gained new ones, so he's okay with this. Don't get me wrong, I like their new albums too, but I really hate this attitude, when bands make such changes and don't care about old fans and want to replace them with more mainstream crowd for fame. It's like a stabbing a knife in their hearts. Belphegor isn't one of those bands and they have my respect and loyalty. Totenritual delivers powerful music, especially first track "Baphomet". Drums are fucking amazing.
