So Liv is out, severing ties with Norway, but we have yet another 11 tracks about the Vikings... that figures. Was hoping we were going to get some Swan of Tuonela for a change....

First gig was Manowar (loincloths 'n' all), Bristol Colston Hall in March 1983, on the 'Hail to England' tour. Tickets were £3.75, 300 in the audience, Mercyful Fate never showed, but my hearing still got seriously trashed..

I agree there are only so many albums one can write about Vikings, the last album would have been a good opportunity to close the Viking chapter. Oh well, that doesn't mean it will turn out bad.

Putting the album on Wait & See.

Dunno what's so bad about this album. In terms of songwriting quality, it ain't that different from the past 2 works. The problem with bands such as Leaves' Eyes is that it tends to have a very young audience. Young audiences usually get overtly emotional when major line-up changes occur, thus they vent their frustration on subsequent works. Like in the case of Nightwish back in 2005 with Tarja.

Elina is a strong vocal, probably not as versatile as Liv, but she can hold her own very well.

I agree with the above, I was sure that the departure of Liv (especially being a big fan of her earlier works) would detriment Leave' Eyes considerably but I actually enjoy this album.

It's just hard for me to support them after seeing how badly they did Liv. Not a huge loss, since Njord was their last great album for me.
