You may know Stoned Jesus as that band who plays that "I'm The Mountain" song you found on YouTube. Even my non-metalhead friends know that song, so Stoned Jesus are obviously mainstream. But here on their 4th album, they try to expand their sound a bit from the usual stoner rock. Read more ›› |

Dafuq is up with the vocals on Thessalia? Sound rubbish. To be honest, as a big fan of the stoner rock/metal sound, I never really got into Stoned Jesus, and whilst there's good moments on this one, ther'es nothing that strongly grips me, and the attempts at a less stoner/hard rock-based sound (e.g. Thessalia, Water Me) aren't convincing. Edit: However, when the vocals disappear and they go back to rocking out, the ending to Water Me is thoroughly enjoyable

Nothing too exciting IMO. What was good about SJ on the early albums seems to be lost or is highly decreased.
