Instrumentally pretty much Abigail minus any interesting hooks. The only track which really stands out at all is the title track, and I wouldn't exactly call it a favorite song of mine.Ultimate, just a very average album.

Definitely one of kings spookiest stories... the story and musicianship work very well together and it all comes together towards the end which is pretty epic heres some of the lyrics on the last song

Show to mankind that You really exist
And then explain to us the meaning of chaos
Give us reason to persist, to go on living through this Hell on Earth
All I want is peace of mind from all you non existing Gods
I bet that not even You will ever understand the truth
Cause YOU are nothing but a puppet on even higher strings
Your unholy eyes, I wanna sew them shut
Oh you meaningless little God, and so I choose death over you
Up up the grey cold stairs, up into the tower of Hell
With a rope in my hand, I'm searching for the unknown land
FATHER OF THE UNIVERSE, here I come.. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE

The 2nd best of the post "Eye" releases, falling behind only "The Puppet Master". Not really a fan of the Da Vinci Codeesque Christ conspiracy theory angle of the story, but the album unfolds nicely and ends on a climax. The main gripe people seem to have with this album is the songs aren't "catchy" enough or the production is lifeless. I'm not a production whore, so this sounds fine to me, and the songs not being catchy, I strongly disagree. Instead of individual stand outs the album plays like a whole and is insanely catchy in parts throughout the whole. This is an album to buy after you have the classics from the 80s and the early Fate stuff as well. For the seasoned KD fan, perhaps.

Fantastic record. It has grown on me a lot over the years and I think it's one of KD best, maybe even the best. Just as comment above here says it doesn't have the same individual highlights some KD albums have (like Black Horsemen or At The Graves) but the quality is always very high here. I love the riffs, often they have a cool pattern and there's lots of great lead guitars by Andy and Glen.

^ I haven't listened to this album in a very long time, I will try and make time for a listen.

I thought the two primary purposes for the internet were cat memes and overreactions.
