I truly wasn't ready for a comeback like this. Wow. the best since Lichtgestalt. Pure old school Lacrimosa. I need more spins, but this album could become AOTY in gothic genre.

Music to slit your wrists to. Why would anyone listen to music to make themselves feel bad? Beats me.

I'm not really following the point of this post. I haven't listened to this album in particular but I'm a huge fan of their early albums and sure, they are somber but not more than your average doom metal band and sure as hell not like DS/ambient black metal.

That's a general remark about a lot of bands, not only Lacrimosa. It just happened that I posted this remark in this forum thread.

I don't understand why would anyone listen to music to make themselves feel bad either, but has it ever crossed your mind that Lacrimosa (and other similar bands) don't make us feel bad? There is a certain beauty in their sadness and to me that beauty overpasses the rest and in the end gives me a lot of satisfaction. The enjoyment in music can come from different sources and it doesn't necessarily have to be from the joyfullness of the sound.

A lot of bands you're listening to (Paradise Lost, Shape of Despair etc) are not exactly joyful either... For example I find Paradise Lost to be glacially cynic about it all more often than not.

Listening to these bands does not make me feel bad, miserable, or anything like that. If it did, I'd stop listening to these bands.

But I guess they do not make you feel "happy" either?
I have been listening to Gothic for the last 20 years, haven't slit my wrists yet (obviously). I have found that this music has helped increase my resilience to life's shitstorms that inevitably occur as you grow older.

It makes me feel good because it's good music.

Which makes your previous comment all the more ridiculous... As if you were making some statement regarding how the band pushes its' fans to commit suicide.
Even for troll standards (cuz you can't be serious) I find it stupid, specially if you enjoy bands like, say, Shining, who actively promote that kind of behaviour.

I'm calm. I was just noticing how the trolling on bands and other people tastes is cool as long as it comes from you. It was my mistake for not realizing that.

Underpaid M.D.
Their best album in years, it's not the best of the band, but certainly is a wonderful step since Lichtgestalt.
Feels like something from their oldest material but still infused with all the experience they have at the moment.

This album is just outstanding! I really loved "Hoffnung" and I thought it was their best since "Lichtgestalt" but this one even surpasses "Hoffnung". One of my favorite albums from 2017.
