Additional info
Produced by Sergey "Lazar" Lazarev and Masha "Scream" Arhipova.

It took me a few listens to let this album fully sink in, but Arkona wisely drops their light-hearted, catchy hooks to bring us an album with a much better flow and sense of focus. That doesn't mean they aren't as dynamic, progressive-minded and aggressive as ever though. These Russian folk metal giants are still on top of their game.

I had no idea Thomas Väänänen was doing some guest vocals and, as usual, he sounds AWESOME. Glad he still can do some wild vocals.

Staff has no issue with his current voting record, though i might strongly suggest an attitude adjustment. Same goes for the "bitch" comment which prompted this. play nice.

Surprised this kept my attention for the whole 66 minutes.

Yeah, me too. If someone were to objectively describe the album to me, I'd prob predict that I would think it would boring. What a really like about this album is that due to some very smart songwriting, it holds a more constant tone better than their previous albums. Like, it's a dynamic album, but all the transitions and ideas thrown around are pretty subtle but still obvious enough to be interesting under careful listening. For example, in the title track, there is a pretty fuckin' rockin' riff that gets introduced five minutes in, but it doesn't totally fuck up the tone of the song with a jarring transition. And hearing a good amount of (smartly under-mixed) non-string synth in Arkona's music is a pleasantly interesting surprise.
