There are a couple of things that happen to old bands. One: they run out of steam and start playing slower and less energetically as old age creeps in. Two: they run out of ideas and start rehashing the same old stuff in a bid to recapture their glory days. It seems that someone forgot to tell all this to Raven, who in fact insist on kicking serious heavy metal arse on their new album ExtermiNation.

Like it or not, these guys know how to play badass catchy heavy metal. It contains doses of heavy metal, thrash metal, speed metal even hard rock and it is fucking catchy! Raven is in great shape, too bad their fanbase is slowly dwindling and the chances for them to get the success they deserve are slim. They pretty much have the same fate as groups like Anvil, Manilla Road or Annihilator had... great music but underappreciated... life can be a bitch sometimes...

Raven are still delivering the goods after all this time. "Scream" is by far my favourite song from the album.
