After the less than warm reception surrounding Twilight Of The Gods' Fire On The Mountain last year, Alan Averill (of Primordial and Void Of Silence notoriety) is back with a vengeance with the debut of his new Dread Sovereign project. After putting out a small EP last year, the group now see themselves hitting the scene hard this year with All Hell's Martyrs, a more concise delivery of ideas that's guaranteed to win over fans both with its eerie vibe and overall catchy atmosphere. Brace yourselves, kids: this one's a fucking banger.

The cd says the last track is Live Through Martyrs, then Transmissions From The Devil Star.

Then you most probably have a misprint on your hands Because the last track is really called 'All Hell's Martyrs, Transmissions From The Devil Star''

The booklet with the lyrics says the same thing. I was wondering if there are 2 versions of the album. Bit of a weird misprint, All Hell becoming Live Through.

I consider "Scourging Iron" to be the best traditional doom metal song of 2014, but the album as a whole is a little too lengthy for me.

Much better than the last Primordial album. Nemtheanga's voice fits very well.

Seriously, the first time I heard Primordial I immediately wanted Nemtheanga to do a traditional doom metal album. And boy did he deliver.

He really knows how to evoke the emotions. Brilliant vocalist.

Same here. Good, but could've been better if it was actually shorter.

Production is fairly bad: I want to be wrapped in sound not feel like it's just out of reach, though it serves the ambient elements quite well. Vocals seem to go from good to some kind of cringey Serj Tankian / Mark Shelton offspring; something that didn't happen in Primordial. Songs are ok, I guess. It had it's moments, some good, some pretty dull and not sure why some are so long. Really not sure who to give my doom vote to this year. I probably won't bother.

Why the hell am I just discovering this? Alan's vocals automatically make anything sound better and epic. This is some fine doom for sure. I agree about the production however. It sounds distant, yet cavernous.

Amazing one, just peace of masterpiece, phulosphical, wicked lyrics, as art, and creativity, Alan is awesome, he could bpaly doom, black and heavy metal and I be happy, but not much, otherwise bands can lose creativity. IMO unique doom act this is
