It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.
24.11.2013 - LeKiwi
Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.
08.03.2012 - Kuroboshi
Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1
27.03.2014 - Mehdi Taba
Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.
25.07.2013 - LeKiwi
I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...
15.08.2014 - elt
very good...I also listened to a preview of their third album, really nice ...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!
31.07.2011 - patrickmetal12
Because this band will blow your mind. its like Amon Amarth but with clean-ish vocals. The vocalist makes the band... majestic. After only watching their official video, i immediately fell in love with their style. If you like Amon, Ensiferum, Enslaved, and fucking awesome vocals, this band is for you!! \m/

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".
18.04.2009 - Dr.Rock
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Floodline is a very interesting Progressive Metal band who has released two albums, Passage To Dawn and Beneath The Waves, the latter showing a huge improvement over the former, in terms of production and diversity.
The guitar work is particularly varied and should appeal to melo prog lovers as well as to fans of more extreme stuff. Drumming is also neat with a great double-bass. Vocals are ok though not great, shifting back and forth between clean and harsh vocals.
One of the most promising Progressive Metal band who definitely needs to be featured on Metal Storm to get the exposure they deserve.
25.11.2010 - Nicoline
Dunderbeist should be on Metal Storm because their style is fun, heavy, innovative (reminds me of Diablo Swing Orchestra at times) and they've released three full length albums (the last one being their heaviest). It's a musical treat that I believe many here on MS will appreciate. Not conviced? Give the following song a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPOKCMfKU-g
21.10.2012 - SceneryOfLoss
Plus they'll be touring with Fear Factory and Devin Townsend.
25.11.2010 - Sorgblad
I think they really deserve to be here. They are young and ambicious and I hope they will become famous, they have everything what it takes. Ive just ordered their only album called Monument and it instatnly became one of my favourite Melodic Death Metal albums all the time. They have keyboards which overally gives them very good atmosphere. If you want fast melodic metal with insane deep and high pitched growls over fast drums, then check them out as soon as possible !
24.11.2010 - warrior-of-light
Galderia is a young, promising band from Marseille, France. They play a unique style of Melodic Power Metal, as it's never been heard before. They definitely are a enrichment for the whole "metal scene". Appearing on this site could possibly make them a little better known. Galderia have the potential to be the next Gamma Ray or Stratovarius, because their melodies are very various and captivating. Their technical skills on the instruments are great, and you can recognize that by the quality of their music. I think, some more people should be able to enjoy this great young band, and that's why I consider it as important for this band to appear on MetalStorm.net.

Because it's the band that have been active since 1988 and still are. New album is about to come soon.
In 1995, Puya released their eponymous debut album under the Noiz Boiz label. There they also met producer Gustavo Santaolalla who signed them to MCA and in 1999 released their second album, Fundamental, which received critical praise.
This propelled the band to stardom even landing them in the second stage of Ozzfest where they shared the opening slot with Slipknot in 1999. In 2000, their song "Tírale" was included in the soundtrack of the movie Heavy Metal 2000, and was the collection's only track with Spanish lyrics. The band opened for Sepultura, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pantera and KISS.
If that is not enough than i don't know what is!
23.11.2010 - zarahuztra
former known as Aspera, Above Symmetry released their debut album this spring at inside out records. this is progressive metal in the same style as band such as symphony x, evergrey n pagans mind. their musicianship is great all over n the vocalist is a great new talent for the prog metal scene
06.01.2013 - diamondblack
+1 but Above Symmetry is already here!
26.11.2010 - Syk
I changed Synergy (Sinergy, already on MS) to this Spanish thrash band. Formed over 10 years ago, and has released three or four albums. A while ago I dled their "Fucking Dawn of the Dead" it wasn't bad, quite catchy in fact, it's in my head now without hearing it for months or maybe even years. I think the album with that song also included guest spots by many famous metal musicians
22.11.2010 - Viltharis
It should be on Metal Storm, because this band is getting more and more popular especially among metal fans in Eastern Europe. It supported Sabaton in Minsk (not sure, but informations on their website says so). Maybe they are young, but I think they are worth to be on Metal Storm.
13.08.2014 - ahenathon
They called itself Litvin and Troll but they are from Belarus. How hilarious it is.
22.11.2010 - BasitAbbasi
The lead singer Alex Foster has a nice voice and the band have the ability to keep amused the listeners. This band also sounds as Metal which is a main reason for this band to be added on this website.

Wasteland is one of the best underground (folk)black metal band in Croatia!
band has been active since 2005,their debut demo is called:Of battles and shadows, released in 2008!On that demo they played black metal, but now they play folk black metal!
20.11.2010 - Ludicus
This guy is responsible for Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and their OSTs. They're not the best songs in the world; actually pretty mediocre. Some of them are very nice, though. I would recommend "Feel A Fear", "Writhe In Pain", "Burly Heart", "The Midnight Carnival" and, of course, "Awe Of She", all of them from the soundtrack to Guilty Gear X2.
I think I should have added "South Africa" instead of "Japan", though.
19.11.2010 - hollci
The band came into existence during the year 2001. During that time this metal band was called The Chliew and the first members were Bebo: guitar, Lukas: vocal, Hoyas: drums and Marek: vocal. The band in this formation played at the few concerts but never issued own record. After the period of time The Chliew lost one member. Marek left from the band and three rest members still made the new songs.

+1 from me

Scimitar is a breath of fresh air into contemporary extreme metal, combining harrowing melodic leads with unrelenting drums and harsh vocals. To quote a review of their recent full-length 'Black Waters': "Scimitar have struck folk metal gold with this album, evoking Alestorm if they had more balls, or Ensiferum if they sailed under the Jolly Roger." (http://metal-archives.com/review.php?id=286318). This young band would be an awesome addition to this site.
07.12.2010 - PrometheusBC
I can vouch for Scimitar. These guys kill it on stage!
16.11.2010 - Metalomorphis
This is a BM band from Poland who have been active since 1993 and have released 3 full-length albums, last time in 2008. There aren't that many bands from that country and even fewer BM bands that actually have something making them stand out of the pits of Hell, so you should check them out.
15.11.2010 - Bizzaremifo
Izmoroz is great Pagan/Folk/Black Metal band from Russia. Released 4 albums. Lyrics are in russian language. Pagan music with lots of russian-culture influences. Slavyan mythology in lyrics. Very interesting for listeners who likes pagan metal with non-english lyrics.
15.11.2010 - Lord Meatpie
These guys are fuckin amazing. They cross so many genres. Do not let the one rack on Myspace fool you. They recently took down the rest of their tracks because of a split up with their old vocalist and are currently re-recording with the 3 core members. Check out their page and buy or download the 2 albums they have already released with the old vocalist. More recordings will be coming soon!
15.11.2010 - Bizzaremifo
Nightside Glance is very interesting symphonic black metal band from Belarus. They released demo and one full-length album so far. Their songs are epic and strong with huge performance. Nightside Glance and In Raven Claws are their best songs. Band could be interesting for metal heads.
15.11.2010 - Lord Meatpie
I am the only acoustic porngrind musician I have ever heard. Metal Archives denied me being posted to their site because they said I was a punk band, which is 100% false. I'm a completely unique musician, my debut album has just released as of yesterday. Check out my tunes, and please be advised my Myspace looks like shit right now because all my artwork was removed for not "following the guidelines" even though everything was edited and fine to the Myspace guidelines.
