01:36 - Apothecary Wardruna are some really badass dark neofolk from Norway, gonna be curating along with Enslaved next year. They bring out war drums, gongs, and other traditional stuff onstage. Pretty rad [link]
01:29 - Karlabos The only folk metal i want to see live is Jaldaboath :
01:21 - Apothecary Yeah, I'm not too big on folk metal live. Totally stoked for Wardruna at Roadburn next year, but then even they aren't really folk "metal"
00:43 - Redn1ght Reminds me of last year, Turisas and Ensiferum in the same month last year. Haha.. Too bad they suck at the moment.
00:40 - Apothecary Melvins and Primus shows both a week apart from each other in my town, yeeeeeeee boiiii
00:22 - Redn1ght There should be a series of those with different categories each year. Jari takes the: Bitch and moan! O woe is me! award.
It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.
28.07.2013 - psykometal
Needs at least one full length.
24.11.2013 - LeKiwi
Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.
08.03.2012 - Kuroboshi
Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1
27.03.2014 - Mehdi Taba
Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.
22.07.2009 - Wildchild-91
Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes
22.05.2012 - RocknRaven
It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.
25.07.2013 - LeKiwi
I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...
15.08.2014 - elt
very good...I also listened to a preview of their third album, really nice ...
02.05.2012 - gabrielsanctus
Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!
10.04.2009 - Hunter'sMoon
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".
18.04.2009 - Dr.Rock
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?
31.07.2011 - patrickmetal12
Because this band will blow your mind. its like Amon Amarth but with clean-ish vocals. The vocalist makes the band... majestic. After only watching their official video, i immediately fell in love with their style. If you like Amon, Ensiferum, Enslaved, and fucking awesome vocals, this band is for you!! \m/
14.10.2009 - artah
"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.
09.04.2010 - UnderworldEvents
Hawaii's most infamous export in the metal/punk genre dominating the state's music scene for over a decade. America's first metal band to extensively tour mainland China and one of the world's most famous non famous bands. Signed to Malt Soda Recordings and a long time Jagermeister sponsored band, Corrupt Absolute tours worldwide and is one of the major forces in the revival of the 80's thrash crossover resurgance along with other bands such as DRI and Municipal Waste. 4 full length releases
09.04.2010 - WhiteHawk
Surprising this band isn't on here since they been around since the late 1980s as well they got many releases under there name. Those guys are still around today. I will recommend this band to anyone who loves old school death metal or death metal in general because they are worth the time to be heard. They got good powerful vocalist with great instrumentation. They also usually sing about Gore, Sickness, Death, Torture .... so if you like those themes then you would probably like this band.
12.04.2010 - Funeralopolis
Yes! +1 I really wanna have their album (of which I cannot the title right now)!
13.04.2010 - Otravia
went on their myspace...anyone who loves old school Death Metal? I DON'T THINK SO. More like plastic metal. but that's just me...
24.06.2012 - Pathora
Rhapsodies in Red is perhaps one of the best Death Metal albums of 1992
08.11.2013 - Dizzeke
Remember the days...old school gore death metal with ONE hell of an album.
09.04.2010 - WhiteHawk
Band that combines female opera vocals with progressive metal. They done it pretty well, if you like progressive metal and female opera vocals .... you should check out this band.
08.04.2010 - ShannenName
This is unlike most melodic death metal, it feels refined, new, fresh, modern, futuristic and I like. All that contribututes to the 'Modern' appended to the front of 'Melodic Death Metal'. Really good material!
07.04.2010 - KontoraFan
Kontora got together in mid 2007 and to date are going stronger than ever!
Tired of the bullshit clone bands, posers and watered down fringe metal? The record is about to be set straight again...
Kontora is a ferocious slaying machine, bleeding eardrums without mercy, true ferocious metal in every sense. Fuck the "who do they sound like" nonsense, it is what it is!
Kontora recorded "Born to Kill" in August 2007 which was voted "Track of the day" on Garageband.com and was also featured on the cover disk of Terrorizer magazine. The time that followed was spent gigging and trying out new material which allowed Kontora to forge writing connections, find out what worked and what didn't. If "Born to Kill" paved the way in defining the Kontora sound then the tracks that followed set it in stone.
"We are always up against ourselves to push our musicianship further, test new ground, make it more brutal without losing our technical edge. We want to be the sort of band that will make you want to lose your mind in a ferocious slam pit at one of our gigs, or make the hairs on your neck stand up when you give it a listen on a stereo. The music is in layers, it isn't just three chords, it's something you can listen to again and again and every time get something different. This is what good metal should do when it's done right. This is what we aim for."
The mechanics are moving...the machine is rolling...
06.04.2010 - InirtuFreemist
Xstrophy is a band devoted to the power, energy, and passion that is slowly fading away in the modern day metal world. Xstrophy put on an incredible live show that always leaves the fans begging for more. Xstrophy have played with several big name acts such as Otep and Korpiklaani and have seemingly upstaged all others that took to the stage the same night. Xstrophy have been approached by metal blade record scouts and have been told by people in the industry that they should be playing Ozzfest.
06.04.2010 - lingus99
I have recently found their second album and apart from 2 dodgy cover versions it is pretty solid. Similar in sound to Delain/Katra/Echoes of Eternity. They seem to be a small up and coming band and don't seem to be outside of Italy much at the moment. A slot on here could do them some good.
Not sure what the myspace site is like. I'm sat in work and myspace is blocked. Suppose it's intended to stop me from goofing off when I should be working. Nah!
20.05.2014 - illidant
Pretty good gothic rock/metal group I've just discovered few months ago. They already have three albums (2005 - 2008 - 2013) and sound like Dark Princess or Eyes of Eden.
06.04.2010 - WhiteHawk
A journey through experimental avantgarde metal, touching grand symphonic moments and blasting aggressiveness, dark ancient rituality and growls of modern drug fiends; progressive and technical but also melodic and refined with a truly unique sound
06.04.2010 - Draxsen
Draxsen has been part of the Australian Metal landscape since 1993 when they released there 1st EP In The Midst Of A Scream. Touring with acts such as Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo), SpyVSpy and a very young spiderbait. At this time they where signed to The Rowe Label in Melbourne as Ignite (This period is now fondly referred to as the Dark Ages of DRAXSEN). In 1996 they changed there name to DRAXSEN, as Roadrunner had signed a U.S. alternative band of the same name. This was a heavy set back for the band, with legal action thretening the very existence of the band. Basically the Australian version of IGNIte owned the rights to the name Etc... But Roadrunner hard more money! You get the picture. Confusion then ensued. Hotmetal (magizine at the time ) did there best to clear it up but things went south for about 3 years at which time they released an EP "Where The Darkness Screams" which was the 1st release where keyboards were introduced to broaden the sound-scape. There has also been a number of other releases such as "The Cracked Mirror, The concept album Terrortory and Bury The Past.
On the 31st of March 2010 Draxsen released the Single "Your" from the Album Chronic Pain, which is due to be released in Late June early July.
11.04.2011 - Sorgblad
This band is young and ambicious they combine various genres and make perfect atmospheric and melodic music, quite experimental, progressive, in some ways agressive and you can hear a lot of classical music influence as well. Deep Death Growls with High Pitched Growls can be heard. With lyrics about Social problems if you like for example Kalmah this is definitely band for you (newer songs mainly, older songs are posted so far)
04.04.2010 - Frostvind
I don't actually know what genre this is. But Atmospheric/Progressive Nu Metal sounds real to me. Tjeck it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7DLL_OF4GA&playnext=0&playnext_from=QL
08.08.2014 - Ilham
That's not how I'd describe them, like at all. I'd say a fusion between hardcore and sludge with maybe touches of prog. Great band anyway.
03.04.2010 - qlacs
Fellsilent playing progressive metal mixed with math and other experimental elements. They have an LP called The Hidden Words. For fans of Animals As Leaders, TesseracT, Periphery, Cloudkicker.
10.04.2010 - robichaud1

17.12.2011 - btbamfan20
dont have to scratch... can still spot them
10.11.2012 - Uldreth
This one album this band released is easily the pinnacle of djent.
03.04.2010 - Pardi777
Debut album is being released on April 16th,
It should be added because its a high quality album that is going to be featured in Multiple magazines in the US and Europe,
Also it features Sean Peck from CAGE on a guest track. The album itself is 21 songs/106 minutes with 7 different vocalists.
Just take a listen and you decide!
03.04.2010 - qlacs
WOW have you ever considered adding more info about bands?
10.04.2010 - TiMeToÐie
kinda nu-metal at best good that they're added love them
12.04.2011 - btbamfan20
This is metal, no doubt. Their earlier shit i'd say is more Punk Metal, but their new shit is heavy metal/thrash metal with a little bit of punk influence. Need proof? listen to Downtown on Blackhawks Over Los Angeles and try telling me they're not metal...
05.04.2010 - Prof_Rabies
The Wargasm is a melodic black metal band from Finland.
It should be added to Metalstorm website,
because it's rising name in the scene of black metal with melodic nuances.
They have already released one full length album named "Holocaust Infernalium". Came out last year in Finland.
And at the moment they are recording their second album, should be out in summer/autumn 2010.
The whole debut album is by the way now online in their myspace-page.
