It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1
27.03.2014 - Mehdi Taba
Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.
22.07.2009 - Wildchild-91
Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".
18.04.2009 - Dr.Rock
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?
22.05.2012 - RocknRaven
It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.
25.07.2013 - LeKiwi
I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...
15.08.2014 - elt
very good...I also listened to a preview of their third album, really nice ...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.
09.10.2011 - DrkkWntr
It's a band from Cyprus, a country that doesn't have such a big metal scene and the black metal scene is almost nothing. This makes the band's work more original and that they really care about metal and release material that express what they are and what they feel.
11.03.2010 - Fastolphbolger
Black metal band whit Burzum, Gorgoroth, Darkthrone, Bathory, Ulver influences.
The first Nachtgeblüt demo-album, "Frozen streams of forgotten knowledge", is just the throwing off of the old purposeless ideals, born from childish rebellion and resentment, and the enthroning of pride and self-overcoming as new ones. The second album, "Strange ways to ancient times", divided in three Books (the third one released separately as "Ways that noone shall ever follow"), is positive instead and clearly points to a mighty homage to the occidental culture going from the Dark Ages to the Baroque and Romantic periods, both musically and lyrically, so that i deviated from black metal to classical music and from conventional lyrics to Miltonian exaltations of Nietzschean values, and even philosophically and aesthetically, where i wandered strange ways so to bring forth those ancient and aristocratic times again, waging war against the values of the socialist equalitarian and materialist modernity.

Heavy Metal band from Greenland (That's Right), I am serious. Nice guitar parts as well good vocals. In addition, they got one 1 album, have listen to them and see if you like it.
They don't sing in English though.
18.07.2014 - Sword_Chant
Should be added with the Greenlandic band Inneruulat :)

Severed Reign was founded in the early months of 2005, by the members of 2 Minutes to Maiden; a local Iron Maiden tribute band, who have been mixing it up for years before coming together. Together for just over a year, the band started to write their own material in the style of 'Maiden, but combined that with their other musical influences to create an entirely new sound. And the New Wave Of Canadian Heavy Metal was born!
Those guys sound like they have bright future in my opinion also.
10.03.2010 - FrostFlame
New band from France who been around for bit, however they just released there debut this year. Have listen and see what you think. They combine mix of Folk/Black/Death Metal into one which is kind a cool mix.
10.03.2010 - FrostFlame
One of those great bands from the Netherlands which should get more attention then they have and they combine mix of heavy metal with hard rock. In addition they been around since the early 1980s..... so check them out guys and see what you think of them
10.03.2010 - Retribution
They are definitely one of the best underground English Black Metal bands around today, both live and on CD. They rank up there with the likes of Wodensthrone and Winterfylleth and it would be good to see them get some exposure as their music has the credibility as far as I'm concerned.
Why they haven't been added yet is beyond me, they released a great demo in 2007, see review here: http://www.chroniclesofchaos.com/reviews/albums/2-5780_iceni_as_carnyx_screams_consume_the_silence.aspx
The last gig I saw them at (with Obtest) they played a killer set which has been reviewed here: http://www.metalteamuk.net/reviews10/review-obtest.htm
Lastly they are about to release an epic 3rd demo before they go into the studio to record their debut album. I think the year 2010 will be a big one for Iceni.

Born in 2002, your inspired in all that have influenced us, both by music and other things (films, books, stories, etc.). There are many bands who have a crucial intervention in his music, bands like Manowar, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath or Helloween are the primal influences. Then, everyone of us has his personal influence and musical style (bands like King Diamond, Tristania, Crematory, Blind Guardian, Dimmu Borgir, Dream Theater, Symphony X, ...).
Vennus Aeterna have a self released calling "One" in 2007

Gorky Park is famous for its kitsch use of western stereotypes of Russians, such as pseudo-traditional clothing, balalaika-like guitar design and Hammer and sickle as their logo. It was the first Russian band to be aired on MTV. In addition, they gained gained mainstream popularity in USA during Perestroika.
Gorky Park participated in Moscow Music Peace Festival alongside Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, Cinderella, Ozzy Osbourne and Scorpions. Gorky Park joined the other acts from the Moscow Music Peace Festival in the compilation album Stairway to Heaven/Highway to Hell. Which included each of the bands performing one song from an artist who died from, or a band who lost a member to, drug problems. Gorky Park's contribution was a cover of The Who's My Generation.
I can't seem to find there official myspace page or official page. However, I found fan based myspace page of there's. If you want to hear what they sound look up there videos on youtube. In addition, according to wikipedia they been around since 1987 and disbanded in 2001.
Furthermore, I was born in the same city as they been formed in and a lot of russian people know this old rock band.

Gluecifer was a hard rock band based in Oslo, Norway. Formed in 1994, they produced several underground releases during their first years of existence and soon claimed to be "kings of rock".
The band played at the 2004 Quart Festival as warmup for Monster Magnet. However, in July, 2005, the band announced their break-up.
26.05.2010 - DarkSymphony500
There are 2 different bands called Aeternitas, one is a Gothic Metal band (Germany), the other is a Death Metal band (Australia). The myspace channel is for the Death Metal one and the official website is for the Gothic one. Both bands are good, but you can decide your favourite.
08.03.2010 - FrostFlame
Another great Swedish rock whos similar to CrashDiet and Hardcore SuperStar. They are part of what is called "New Wave of Swedish Sleaze/Glam" movement.
Great sound and vocals!!! you should have a listen to them and see what you think

Crackdust is a Death Metal outfit from Botswana, one of the bigger bands from that scene I would assume. Metal Storm has virtually no sub-saharan African metal bands outside of South Africa, and adding Crackdust would help to add exposure to the metal scene of Botswana, which is still in its infancy.
07.03.2010 - Xavilith
These guys are awesome and I think they should definitely be featured on this awesome website.
Debut album was a killer and they should be realesing a new one soon.
They also have a video out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYSxp9r6t74
Check it out please

its the end is a instrumental technical jazz/metal fusion band from norway, that gave out their debut album through musea records last year. they won the progawards ( http://www.progawards.it/ ) for best debut album.
07.03.2010 - Occultista
I have only just found this website, but I was a little surprised to see one of my favourite bands not on here which is Viatrophy. They are as the style reads a progressive/technical death metal band, some like to lable it Deathcore, but they are very different to every other Deathcore band I've heard as each of their songs are unique and thought out rather then just drumkits with a screaming vocalist who sounds like he's trying a bit too hard.
They play some very heavy great head banging beats along with brutal growling and neo singing vocals, technical melodic riffs and have some pretty solid lyrics to go with it.
Anyway, if you haven't already heard of them, they are from Reading in England, have brought out one amazing EP and a great full length album. They have recently sadly announced they will be splitting up due to their main person wanting a different career path, but I think they still warrant some more recognition as I cannot find anything close to them!
Have a listen to Misanthropes, Chronicles, Seas Of Storms, Sufferance and Eternal Darkness and that should be enough persuasion to have them added to this awesome website!
21.03.2011 - musclassia
Definitely. They just reformed and everything. Melodeath elements, nowhere near deathcore
29.05.2012 - acheron666
Technical/Progressive Death Metal ????
i think they are a Melodic Deathcore band

MARYSLIM has been around since 1999. The year that also involved the Kosovo war, one of the largest drug busts ever in American history, the assassination of moderate Iraqi Shiite cleric Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr, an earthquake in Turkey who killed 13 000 people, etc. If all these things had something in common whatsoever is to this day unknown.
MARYSLIM is a constantly touring band. If they are not making the Festivals into infernos and a battlefield, or hi-jacking some vehicle to take them to some stages and bars elsewhere in Scandinavia, they are probably rocking their butts off at the CBGBs in New York, the Red Room in Texas, or conquering Spain, Italy, Germany, England or some other little European country you hardly have heard of before.
07.03.2010 - Syk
"Pavor is Latin and translates to 'trembling' or 'horror.' It's also a Spanish word with a similar meaning." A band formed long long ago, with at least one great album (2x 100% and nothing else on m-a). It was over six years ago though, who knows if they'll do any more... Drummer is currently with Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, and it seems their bassist performed some quite unorthodox vocals on the second Bethlehem album

Underrated death metal from Germany. Recommended.

I can't believe this band isn't on here... This stuff is incredible...

The Canadian rock band was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early 1980s as an import before interest gradually declined. Today, the power trio continue to receive radio airplay on Classic Rock stations and are perhaps best remembered for their positive message songs and their vibrant energetic concerts, complete with extravagant pyrotechnical light shows. Their popularity was extremely strong in Texas, where they first received strong radio attention; but, they were stellar standouts at California's US Festival, and garnered a considerable fan base and radio attention by regularly touring the world, especially throughout North America and Europe. Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga.
04.01.2011 - Marcelb7
If Journey and Rush are on this site, so should Triumph. Rik Emmett is a guitar god!
22.01.2012 - malymich
this band definitely deserves place on this site!

Yet unsigned band but really worths the money. They self-released their first album, called "Obscure Reflections". If you like the following bands you should check them out: Obscura, Illogicist, Theory In Practice, Martyr, Hieronymus Bosch, Anata.
06.03.2010 - Død Beverte
This band is incredibly talented! Very interesting blend of progressive extreme metal , punk , and jazz! The band constantly evolves from album to album, and is always releasing pioneering work!
06.03.2010 - Død Beverte
A unique band from Colorado. This band combines elements from many subgenres of metal, and a few from punk. In fact, a few punk rockers like the music. The genre isn't easy to label. It's an interesting combination of music styles, definately worthy of attention!

In 1998, Kerrang! readers voted Breed 77 the 'Best Unsigned Band'. In 1999, they won both the Metal Hammer and Kerrang! awards for the best new band. Then in 2001 they signed a five album deal with Albert Productions, the legendary Australian publisher of AC/DC.

TKO were a great traditional metal band from Seattle combining gritty, bluesy hard rock (especially in the vocals) with the NWOBHM. Myspace link is to Rick Pierce (guitarist) private page, if you are interested in sound samples check out the fan-made band page on http://www.myspace.com/tkofromseattle.
