It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

The Canadian rock band was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early 1980s as an import before interest gradually declined. Today, the power trio continue to receive radio airplay on Classic Rock stations and are perhaps best remembered for their positive message songs and their vibrant energetic concerts, complete with extravagant pyrotechnical light shows. Their popularity was extremely strong in Texas, where they first received strong radio attention; but, they were stellar standouts at California's US Festival, and garnered a considerable fan base and radio attention by regularly touring the world, especially throughout North America and Europe. Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga.

If Journey and Rush are on this site, so should Triumph. Rik Emmett is a guitar god!

this band definitely deserves place on this site!

I agree that this band deserves place on this site. It's one of the finest hard rock/progressive rock bands of Canada.

Totally agree Triumph's got to be added.

The band combines Oud influenced oriental style, with many other symphonic elements and lyrics reflecting people's suffering in war zones and in exile. The Band's first album " The ghost of Zanoubia" was released in October 2015, and it brings together elements that are not very often used in Metal

Corvus is a Melodic Metal band from Ukraine. They released their debut album "Raven Rising" in 2012.

Royal Corvus band was formed in September 2005 and the first band name was Corvus. The name was borrowed from Latin, it translates - the Raven. It is a symbol of the wisdom in most ancient religions of the world. Raven is a carrier of souls across the River of Eternity and a binding link between the fragile edge of the World of Shadows and the World of the Living. Initially, the Corvus band was created as a melodic symphonic gothic metal project, but in the process of development and quality growth joins itself the best of the different trends and styles of rock. Now Royal Corvus band has created more than thirty Russian and English-language songs. Song's sound is very different: from romantic ballads to hard and progressive rock. And nobody of the listeners will not remain indifferent, because everyone will find something in this music for themselves. All this different musical styles are merged in one unique style - Corvus style. Besides his own works band plays covers of classic rock and pop songs. During its long history Royal Corvus band many times was engaged in various kinds of rock and bike festivals in Kharkov, and outside it. The Royal Corvus band received invitations and performed in support to rock stars as: Master, Sergey Mavrin, Epidemia, Catharsis, and vocalist of the legendary bands Rainbow and Deep Purple - Joe Lynn Turner. April 28, 2012 the Corvus band has presented their debut album - Raven Rising. October 24, 2012 Royal Corvus was official support group of SCORPIONS in Kharkov as part of the farewell tour "FINAL STING TOUR" .

Not quite a metal band, but seeing that other hard rock or glam bands are featured, I do not see why these guys shouldn't be here. Great White is one of the better bands from that thoroughly commercial movement of the 80s.

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Adrián Barilari with the keyboardist Hugo Bistolfi, who also left Rata Blanca in 1994, form Alianza, with many musicians sessions, which were the only members permanently was Barilari and Bistolfi. The duo explore ballads sound with more keyboard presence than Rata Blanca. Alianza did not have much impact in Argentina, but in other Latin American countries. They edited three albums Sueños del Mundo (1994), Alianza (1997), and Huellas (1999).

HEONIA is a Melodic Metal band from the North of France. The band is started in January 2006 by Thomas and Marieke.
They create HEONIA's first two compositions while they actively search for musicians to complete the band. These first pieces define HEONIA's style of music: a powerful Melodic Metal with touches of Prog and Death; female vocals which can be soft or stronger with, in addition, aggressive death metal voices…
Once the line-up is complete, HEONIA presents its music to people at a lot of gigs (opening for Kells (Fr), Misanthrope (Fr) or To-Mera (UK) in particular) in order to refine its music style and have the first impressions of the audience.
In November 2008, HEONIA releases its first EP self-produced in its entirety and named Simulacra. This one receives quite good reviews although a "home-made" production and is well received by the audience when the band presents it.
HEONIA continues logically on its way and records his debut album in 2009. The band wants, by this mean, to make people discover more in depth his musical universe with a professional sound. Winsome Scar is released in September 2010; its sound is rather dark, melodic and progressive.
Since June 2011, Rudy i not anymore Heonia's drummer. We are currently searching for a new drummer.

Amazing avantgarde band i've discovered recently, mixing jazz, slow & fast tempos with a thrashy druming and almost no vocals besides occasional screams, these guys will for sure deliver for avangarde metal fans!

Oh my god this has to be here! To complete John Zorn's in the collection =P +1000

Its not just another metal band, they have their own style (mixed by southern rock and glam/trash metal). And also they have a lot of fans, whose maybe comes here too :-) They are growin up!

Embryo are an excellent death metal band from Italy. Their music is supported by keyboards which makes this the melo-death band that it is. Excellent drumming, excellent growls (the screams could be better imo) and great memorable riffs and solos. Awesome stuff.
26.02.2015 - SergioBv
Yeah, good band. Their sound is also 'Industrial Metal'.
31.01.2011 - ravendeath
Actually pretty good band, but they should certainly improve on growling vocals.

Spanish melodic death/doom metal band with two realeses and currently recording new album: one demo (2006) and one full-length album "Tragedy & Moon" (2008). This album is currently available for free download in their official website discography section: http://www.inlovingmemory.es/ .

Though widely unknown, Apraxia was a great pagan black metal that relished admirable qualities like loyalty, kinship, and devotion. Formed in 1995 by five guys from Belarus, Apraxia wrote beautiful music the clearly showed the band's love of their roots, their homeland, and their people. Although they don't exist anymore (most of Apraxia's members went on to form Molot, another great band) Apraxia deserves a spot on Metal Storm, for their admirable sentiments should be heard by more than just fans in the underground.

Spear of Longinus is an awesome black/thrash metal band from Queensland, Australia. Despite having existed since 1993, Spear has yet to see mainstream success, appealing mostly to underground audiences. However, that underground appeal only magnifies the glamor of Spear's music, reassuring listeners that they are truly fortunate to have discovered this great band. Perhaps Spear will receive the recognition that they deserve if Metal Storm gives them a page. : )

M-A reviews relate them to Absurd, who are on the blacklist, and to Beherit, who are not

27.01.2011 - Sleeping Dragon
They're metal: shrieking vocals (black metal-ish sounding), blast beating, fast/heavy guitars, etc.
There are quite a bit of soft instrumentals and vocal passages, however.

with a lot of members from Frostnatt
06.01.2013 - Draugen
http://www.nattsmyg.com is the new official site for the band.
Here is a timeline taken from the site: 2004 - 2005: With no former music education or interest in music, Dan bought his first guitar in 2004 and with 2 friends started the band Frostnatt. Frostnatt was later split up in 2005, and at that time Dan had bought his first keyboard and had started to write and record songs. He continued making songs as a solo project, and called the solo project Nattsmyg.
2005 - 2007: Dan recorded 5 demos with Anton Hinterlach on the drums and growl, and in 2006 and 2007 2 self-released albums: "När Solen Slocknar" and "Född Att Härska", with Jacob Bramsell on the drums.
2007 - 2009: Dan starts to re-record some parts of När Solen Slocknar for a future re-release. Adam Nilsson and Robin Fors adds some guitars and bass.
2009 - 2011: A third album called "Fylgja" is recorded with Linn Carlshaf on vocals, when Dan got in contact with Unexploded Records who gave a positive response and a way to make Nattsmyg available in a printed version.

This band should be on Metal Storm because they are NEW and will be the future of metalcore while keeping an oldscool sound and influence. They need to get their music out there to peoples ears!! The words will inspire and sound will energize its listeners!
23.01.2011 - Kwis
Having released "The Weight of Redemption" in 2010, the band achieved something abnormal in metal circles. An album that absolutely DESTROYS from beginning to end. I just happened to stumble across this album last year and without a doubt, a top 10, if not number 1, album of 2010. They play a style of melodic death metal, with a tinge of deathcore thrown in for good measure. 2 Songs on the album incorporate clean vocals. These days that could be a deal breaker, but when it's done this good, you can't help but fall in love.
Please look into these guys as I know they deserve a spot on Metalstorm. Thanks.
11.05.2014 - Grind Magi
Just release their second album a few days ago.
23.01.2011 - WampusCatDoom
3 piece, Sabbath-worshiping, Lovecraft-influenced, occult doom band from Knoxville, TN. Their sound is thick, heavy, and primal, as they tap into their basic influences of Pentagram, Black Sabbath, and Black Widow, all drenched with a foreboding aura of the dark Southern Appalachian legends with which the band immerses itself. "Swampy, sludgy Southern doom metal, like the bastard offspring of Black Oak Arkansas and Black Sabbath."- Metro Pulse
Recommended for fans of: Electric Wizard, Eyehategod, Sleep, Weedeater, Church of Misery, Acid King, Wolves in the Throne Room, and Crowbar.

They play an awesome mix of psychedelic progressive post rock/metal - a cross between Down, Porcupine Tree and Tool. It would be helpful for them to promote their music, as they are a young band.

Had never heard of them until here. Guitars are interesting as hell. Nice concept for this Moria's Lake.

Formerly. In the past = former, opposite of future. Formal is the opposite of informal, and refers to writing or speech etc. in important settings such as college papers and news reports

Band was formerly known as Envy, not the band that is currently featured here as Envy. They deserve a spot on Metal Storm because the music is great, plain and simple. They have three albums: Sweet Painful Reality, Empyreal Progeny, and Moira's Lake. Moira's Lake is available for free download in it's entirety on their website, so there's no excuse for you to not at least check them out.

Great young band with bright future, playing awesome thrash stuff. They are going to relase their first album soon.. KomutatoR relased 1 demo (Killing Madness) and 1 Live(Kinning in Madness). They play concerts in whole Poland, sometimes in Czech Republic. They shared stage with bands like Crionics, Virgin Snatch or Christ Agony.
