Joey Belladonna (born Joseph Bellardini on October 13, 1960 in Oswego, New York), was the second and best known singer for the heavy metal band Anthrax. He is part native American (from modern-day Canada) on his mother's side and part Italian American

Anthrax

Joey Belladonna was the lead singer of Anthrax from 1984 to 1992, and was considered part of the classic-lineup (featuring him, Dan Spitz, Scott Ian, Frank Bello and Charlie Benante), which reunited and toured during 2005 and 2006.

His voice was featured on 4 studio albums, several EPs, and sold 8 million records worldwide. While Belladonna was with Anthrax, the band was nominated for three Grammys, and he was voted #1 metal singer two years in a row in Metal Forces Magazine.

As of May 10, 2010, Belladonna officially rejoined Anthrax in time for the Big Four appearances at the Sonisphere shows. Following these and other shows, Belladonna returned to the studio with the band to record new vocals for their long awaited album Worship Music.

At 50, Joey is currently the oldest member out of the Big Four Thrash Metal bands. He is also the only Big Four vocalist that does not play an instrument while performing, with the exception of "I'm The Man" in the late-80's and early-90's.

While Joey was with Anthrax, the band was nominated for three Grammys, and he was voted #1 metal singer two years in a row in Metal Forces Magazine.

In the mid to late nineties Joey Belladonna released his first two albums and has continued writing new material. Recently, work has begun on the new Belladonna album. Joey will collaborate with some new faces on this new album as well as other projects in the future.

Notes
He was fired from the band to be replaced by singer John Bush, but has recently rejoined the original "Among The Living" line-up for a couple of world tours during 2005 and 2007, but now Joey has left Anthrax once again.
Belladonna made his film debut as the character Sid Snyder in the 1988 horror film Pledge Night. Sid Snyder is the killer in the film who is deformed by acid as part of hazing tragedy. Belladonna only plays the pre-deformation version of the character.
