He is also an actor, an historian, a screenwriter and a bodybuilding champion.
As a bodybuilder, he was the first Canadian to win both the Mr. Canada and Mr. USA titles. During his bodybuilding career, he has achieved over 40 titles around the world.
His parents were Austrian, and his father teached him how to play the accordion. By the end of the 1960's, he decided to learn to play the guitar and then bass, becoming part of his first band, called The Ticks. The Ticks eventually turned into Iron Falcon around 1972, and in 1973 Jon Mikl decided to leave the band in order to form Body Rock.
