Formed 2015 in Saarbrücken, THE SPIRIT have emerged from the depth of the German extreme metal void to breathe new life into the black/death metal genre. After releasing their debut album ?Sounds From The Vortex" through their own label, Eternal Echoes, in October 2017, the band quickly caught the attention of Nuclear Blast who re-released the album and made it available for a bigger audience in summer 2018 after the previous edition had already gone out of print.

Following a busy year, packed with release shows at the German Party.San and Summer Breeze festivals as well as an extensive European tour, bandleader and songwriter M.T. entered the Woodshed Studios, Germany in the spring of 2019, to record the sophomore release with producer V. Santura, while the drums have been tracked at the Iguana Studio in Baden-Württemberg.

The result is the second album called "Cosmic Terror", a misanthropic work with seven raging anthems, consisting of a unique blend of black and death metal, extensive instrumental passages and genuine guitar craft. Due to be released through AOP Records on February 7th, "Cosmic Terror" is THE SPIRIT's very own soundtrack to the vast nothingness.
