Biography

Suicide Watch was formed in early 2004, with the sole intention of blasting out honest, old school, politicised thrash metal. Featuring Simon and Rid from Burnside (on guitar and vocals respectively), and Ian and Ade, both ex-Stampin' Ground (on bass and drums), the band recorded their debut album, 'Global Warning', at the respected Whitehouse Studios during August 2004. 'Global Warning' is available to buy in stores now through Belgian label, Mausoleum. The title track of the album was written as a result of how fucked up we see our planet becoming thanks to mankind's insatiable avarice, but recent events - like the terrible tsunami in Asia - lend the words a grim prophetic overtone and just prove that, no matter how much we think we rule this world, we are just here visiting for a short time in the big scheme of things. Suicide Watch are not interested in becoming 'the next big thing', we are not interested in chasing coverage in trendy magazines, we're not prepared to whore ourselves for the music industry. We just want to enjoy ourselves playing the music we enjoy when we enjoy playing it, and just hope that a few of the people who check it out will have as much fun with it as we do.
