Biography

Swiss band Appearance Of Nothing was founded in 2004 by Pat Gerber (vocals, guitar), Omar Cuna (bass), Yves Lüthi (drums), and Marc Petralito (keyboards). After a short experimental period the band began to write their own songs. Since then Pat and Omar both share the part as lead singers.

In 2005 the band released their debut demo, Behind Closed Doors, which was met with positive criticism. With newly appointed lead guitarist Peter Berger, the band decided to take a big step forward.

In 2008 Wasted Time was released and the band engaged Markus Teske as producer who worked together with famous bands such as Vanden Plas and Symphony X. Wasted Time's sound led to Appearance Of Nothing being compared to the likes of Dream Theater, Symphony X, Saga and Vanden Plas.

Appearance Of Nothing concentrated on playing headliner shows throughout 2008 and into 2009, as well as shows as supporting act of Gurd and at the Swiss RAW festival in front of 4000 people on the main stage.

All Gods Are Gone, completed in 2010, was eventually released at the beginning of 2011 - the band's follow-up to the highly successful Wasted Time. The album has a considerably more aggressive and more modern attitude. Not only the sound but also the collaboration with vocalist Dan Swanö (ex-Edge Of Sanity/Nightingale).
