Biography

In the recent years gone by, URKRAFT released a handful of demos with roots in both old school and melodic Death Metal and with links to the more atmospheric side of Black Metal. No matter whether these demos were dominated by fast or slow parts, brutal or more emotionally charged parts, the key aim was always to have a dark feel and focused song writing.

With the four-track Primordial 2003 Promo URKRAFT took a step towards a more modern and Thrash Metal-like sound. The till then Danish lyrics were now in English, the technical skills of the musicians remarkably improved and keyboards had found their natural form in the music.

On account of this promo URKRAFT signed a deal with the German label Cartel Media and released in March 2004 the well received debut album Eternal Cosmic Slaughter, recorded at the Antfarm Studio. Following this release, URKRAFT's concert activity went up. Among other things URKRAFT supported fellow countrymen Withering Surface on their Danish tour, appeared at the North Atlantic "Masters of the Universe Festival" 2004 & 2005 in Iceland and played a few gigs in hitherto unexplored parts of Germany. All fun, drinking and dead serious Metal at the same time.

All in all the word and the sound spread, and more metalheads joined the slaughter of the underground phenomena URKRAFT. The Earache Records release, "The Inhuman Aberation" features the fastest and most brutal efforts from the band so far, but is also the darkest and most emotionally intense expression. In this way the members of URKRAFT combine their musical roots with their musical visions. With the will to turn internal chaos into external order, URKRAFT once again invaded the renowned Antfarm Studio (www.antfarm.dk) in July 2005 and recorded this second album together with producer and sonic mastermind Tue Madsen.
