Biography

INFERNAL was formed in late 1997, with me, David Parland (Blackmoon), teaming up with ex. DARK FUNERAL colleague Themgoroth to create something even more sinister and brutal than our previous band DARK FUNERAL.

After going through several different line-ups, INFERNAL recorded the first self-titled MCD/MLP, at Dug-Out studios and Abyss Studios, (where the vocals were being recorded).

Shortly after this - the band disbanded, and it wasn..t until 2001/2002 that INFERNAL started up again, this time with a new line-up featuring Tomas Asklund/Alzazmon and Henke Ekeroth/Typhos, both ex. members of DARK FUNERAL. This line-up lasted for about one and a half year and an album was supposed to have been made. A MCD entitled "Summon Forth The Beast" was recorded late in 2002 and was released by Hammerheart Records.

In mid. 2003 that second real line-up of INFERNAL disbanded for several reasons, mainly because the SATANIC HOLOCAUST METAL style that INFERNAL was known for, was starting to musically feel very limiting, and the inspiration just wasn..t there anymore. As well, Tomas (Asklund) joined the new DISSECTION fulltime. This as well as a few other reasons made this line-up to quit, allthough we never officially declared the band "dead".

For several years INFERNAL was put on ice, and in between 2003 and mid. 2008, there was just no inspiration to start up again, until I (David Parland) after a longer musical break started to play alot of guitar again, and decided to go back to the roots, and rather play what I really wanted to play, instead of just trying to be as brutal as possible all the time. During the last months of 2008 and in the beginng of 2009, more material have been written than in the last 5 years since the inspiration is finally back.

INFERNAL is back and reborn - allthough in a different shape and form, but still purely SATANIC. This time we will be back for real, and an album "("T.I.R")- the first letters of the words of the real album title) will be released around late 2009/early 2010.

This INFERNAL line-up introduces me, David, as a permanent vocalist. (I earlier did the VON "Devil Pig" and BATHORY "...Of Doom" tracks on "Summon Forth the Beast" MCD, but at that time Typhos was the main vocalist, as heard on tracks like "Branded by Hellfire" etc.
