Biography

History Group Schuttenbach Percival began in May 1999, in Lubin (Lower Silesia), when Fisherman Nicholas (guitar) and his sister, Cornelia (bass) took the team cellist Catherine Bromirsk¹.
Each person brought a piece of yourself and your own preferences to the team, which has affected the following: Cornelia and Nicholas, who are already members of Rivendell, brought folk base, Catherine - musically educated - added elements of classical music. The third element - heavy riffs and distorted guitars - were the domain of both Nicholas and Catherine, because they both were fans of metal music in various forms. These three basic elements, mixed with a variety of other "spice" of music created music Percival, whose style can generally be described as oscillating within the limits of folk-metal. The basic premise of the group was continuing development, both in creating art works, the technique of playing instruments as well as in every other aspect associated with being a good musician.
The first demo

The set composed of refined Percival first material, which presented several concerts. Already in late August and September 1999 he recorded his first demo Fri "Moribuka.
This album showed the range of musical interests Percival - from folk to metal, albeit in a somewhat perverse way. Most folk song, the album begins, it was not a work of folk and classical music composition. Subsequent works were getting stronger, to finally move in two pure metal compositions which were inspired by the sound of folk melodies.
To the board was created special graphics and text-legend, which, together with that same plate were closed story. It was the first attempt to combine the various fields of art, indicating the future direction of work of the team.
One of the songs from "Moribuki" received very good reviews in the journal "Estrada i Studio" and was placed on a CD accompanying the magazine.

Drummer Wanted

Since the beginning of a team looking for a drummer, but I still have not managed to find someone who could stay on for longer. For this reason, for some time experimented with primers Percival percussion. They were developing very experimental, but not fully reflect the spirit of the team, whose foundation was (and is) playing live, and improvisation.

Successes and awards

Meanwhile, however, without a drummer, the band toured and traveled to various festivals - mainly folk - achieving success, winning awards and prizes: first place in the Folk picnic in Radom (May 2000), an honorable mention at the First National Arts Fair Promotion "artes" in Lodz (June 2000) and first place in the Folk Festival in Mazovia Gi¿ycko (July 2000).
Percival-Ovo
During one of these trips he met Percival Schuttenbach Ovo vocal group, which resulted in more cooperation and joint performances, as well as third place and a special prize Orchestra St. Nicholas on Mikolajki folk in Lublin. Cooperation has given the team Percival Schuttenbach new inspirations and showed power that lies in the archaic songs and voices. Common trip to Belarus, where musicians have participated in the march of the Belarusian opposition, which was a memorable event for them, gave them the first extraordinary musical experience. It was there that they can listen to folk songs in an authentic performance. Fascination, which is a result of this merger arose the vision of strong, folk vocals with heavy, distorted sound was still speak in the future.

Percival-Knia¿ycz

In 2001, Percival teamed up with another vocal group, this time with Belarus. This was derived from Nowopo³ocka Knia¿ycz. Since the distance between places of residence of both groups was huge, which were impossible to hold more frequent meetings, the cooperation did not last long and had to end soon. But before this happened, Percival-Knia¿ycz played a few gigs and recorded a demo CD project. By working together, Percival also had the opportunity to offer some very well-received by the local public concert in Belarus.

Another demo

In spring 2002, a new album "Tutmesz-Tekal. The title was taken from the fantastic tale, which from the beginning the band consisted of Nicholas and Cornelia, and the announcement was the album "Moribuka. "Tutmesz-Tekal" won a very flattering and warm review in the magazine "Guitar and Bass."
In April 2002 the brothers have written the script and Fisheries in collaboration with Mark Sitarski, an actor friend, has created a multimedia show depicting the history of Tutmesz-Tekal. Percival joined the music images, light, movement and words - it was the next stage of implementing the vision of multimedia art.

Projects

Musicians Percival not only create your music and playing concerts, but also gave up many other projects.
In 2001-2002, led the international music workshops for young people from across Europe and participated in these concerts zwieñczaj¹cych St. John's during the parade in Wroclaw, organized by the association "Semper avanti."
The Fisherman's Lubin Nicholas created the music and computer animation, and the whole team was involved in performing this music live to produce a multimedia "tip" by Raphael, "Belushiego" Ratajczak. The play was made on the orders of the Municipal Centre for Prevention and Early Intervention Addiction Therapy in Lubin.
In addition, the work of Nicholas - animation "Illusion-Hallucination" - was displayed during the concert Studies Computer Composition of the Academy of Music in Wroclaw, which was held in Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra.

Turn

The year 2003 was a watershed year for the band - bassist departed from him, Cornelia Fisher, who until now was such an important part of it. At some point the question was raised about the meaning and possibility of further action. Gloomy thoughts that plagued musicians, however, were overcome, a desire to create a legend, Percival was stronger.

New composition

Since leaving bassist, the band appeared more and more new people - drummers and bassists. Some are longer, others for less. Each of these individuals brought something to the team and left behind their mark, the musicians can see it was only in retrospect. At that time, the continuous change of composition was very frustrating for them and gave them the impression that the development team is constantly inhibited.
However, despite such difficulties, successes achieved Percival: performed in France, won the award and a special prize for Malborskie Music Review, 2003, appeared in Potsdam at the festival "Rock in the courtyard," and the folk scene at the Woodstock Festival in 2004.

5th Anniversary

In 2004, Nicholas was the main initiator of Fisheries and organizer of the 3-day event, held to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the band. "Schuttenbach Art Festival", which played a few friendly group and, of course, Percival himself, is remembered by some today as magical and unique event.
Remarkable because it seemed that everything, including the weather, he wanted to prevent her organization.
You could say that this story obrazowa³o same team - despite the enormous difficulties of external and internal, Percival did not intend to give up and continued, in spite of everything, come on.

Project Percival

In 2004 he began a new adventure that continues today. Percival musicians interested in historical reenacment, and more specifically the early medieval era - the era of Vikings and Slavs. Project was born, "Percival", which since then and the first timid concerts on historical events, has survived until today, until it is recognized by most odtwórców this period.

Further struggles

The team, now in its two forms, existed and acted on, still looking for people who would be able to engage more in its activities. There were concerts, Schuttenbach Percival also took part in various competitions in the eighth Festival of Polish Radio Folk Music - A New Tradition in Warsaw, where he unfortunately did not win any awards and Lubuskie rock festival "Rock Night" in Zielona Gora, where he won first place , and Fisherman's Santa got the award for best guitarist.

Art rock
progressive metal
another turning point

In connection with ongoing changes in the composition, also changed the music Percival - now the band made music that can be described as progressive. On the next album, prepared with the living section, consisted of long songs, instrumentals, with frequent changes of rhythm and tempo. The group was spotted by the art-rock environment in Poland. One of the words were put on the "Polish art rock vol.3" (Linx Music label), one of their songs.
The main authors of the sound and whole, however, were those who acted in Percivalu from the beginning, that Catherine and Nicholas. Cover the new album, on which was the image of their faces combined, would be the symbol.
The band toured extensively: he reappeared on the stage of the Woodstock folk, while Lubin Art Rock Fest, and played alongside Quidam Ciry, gave a lot of club gigs. There were also two proposals for publishing of large companies, but never came to fruition.
It seemed that everything starts well arranged.
Unfortunately, a good run was interrupted by further personal problems - missing Percivalowi musicians who would and would be able to perform his music.

A new phase

In 2006, initially only in the project Percival, there is a singer Joan Lacher. It was a young girl who had no experience in playing and singing on stage, but it was open and capable person, which meant that she soon joined the folk-rock for Percival Schuttenbach. The emergence of Joanna made me and Catherine Bromirska, cellist, also began to sing and soon Schuttenbach Percival, the only instrumental band became a vocal and instrumental, where the vocals started to meet the lead role. In 2007 he joined the team bêbnista Peter Banszkiewicz, so the team has been far heavier than the sound. Parallel to the work of the group began to spread through the pagan topics, Slavic, historical, linked to their involvement in strong imitative movement. It all led to a time when Percival Schuttenbach could record and release his first official album titled "Response Pagan." This CD brings all the experience - music and non-musical - which won the musicians Percival Schuttenbach over 10 years of its existence, but is also beginning a new phase in the life of the team.
The new album took place at the event organized by Percival Schuttenbach to celebrate the 10th anniversary.

Today Percival Schuttenbach create new projects, playing concerts and plans to record new albums, but above all, faithful to its principle, which is based on 10 years of its existence - the principle of continuous improvement.
