Biography

Damngod was founded in Lahti in early-2007 by Mika Ojala, Toni Broman, Marko Lehto, Antti Vedenpää and Dani Miettinen. However, due to musical differences, the band decided to let Dani go and Jaska Lignell joined the group later that year.

Damngod plays punk-influenced death metal and is lyrically on the left side of the path as the lyrics are strongly anti-religion and anti-human. Although the band itself is still quite young, the members have many years of experience and miles behind them after having been in various musical projects before.

In April 2008 Damngod released their mcd, "Holy Terror", which included six songs with ugly riffs and fury-filled vocals. "Holy Terror" received good reviews in different kinds of media and was welcomed by metalheads all over the world.

In fall 2008 Damngod played a few gigs with a Finnish death metal-band Avoimen Haudan Löyhkä and had an idea about releasing a vinyl split together. In March 2009 the bands finally released their 7" split record by Tritonus Records - the limited 300 copies are already almost sold out!

In June 2009 the band signed a deal with Tritonus Records and began the recording of their debut album at Von studios in Lahti with their trusted zoijojoing man T. Saarenketo. The debut album, "Non Serviam", will be released on October 14th 2009 and will contain nine songs that are faster and more aggressive than anything Damngod has ever done!
