Biography

Gallows End is a Swedish Heavy Metal band from Arvika, a small town located in western Sweden. Gallows End was formed in 2007 by guitarist, and later also vocalist, Thord Klarström and it was originally intended as a "one man" studio project.

A three song demo was recorded at Thord's 7th Gate Studio in Arvika during the summer of 2007, after searching for a good vocalist for several months without any luck Thord decided to record the vocals himself. The reception of the songs were quite overwhelming and immediately attracted the attention from several labels. At the same time Thord had started thinking about putting together a real band and started searching for members to complete the line-up, Mikael (drums) were invited to join the band in the fall of 2007 and shortly after Peter Ogestad (ex-Silent Scythe) joined as the bands bass player, the search for a guitarist continued until January 2008 when Dutch guitarist Niels Boerma filled the spot as a rhythm guitarist. The band started rehearsing but a few months later Peter Ogestad left the band and was replaced by Jimmy Dahlgren ([band]Chrome Machine[/band) after a few months Jimmy decided that he wouldn't have the time necessary to be in two hard working bands at the same time and left the band. In April 2008 Peter Samuelsson (ex-Condemned) replaced Niels as guitarist, and in August 2008 Niklas Nord joined as the bands bass player.

The bands musical vision is to create quality heavy metal, heavily influenced by classic metal acts like Judas Priest, Accept, Iron Maiden etc. but also has influences from more recent bands like Sinergy and Gamma Ray, the style could be described as fast, aggressive but still melodic heavy metal.
