Biography

The dark, intense, gothic, orchestral metal of Hanging Doll combines pure passionate and powerful vocals with dense levels of narcissism and emotional longing. The fusion of brooding detuned guitar riffs with highly melodic string patterns and a metal core is without a doubt a potent mix, both powerful and poignant. The 5 piece band from the West Midlands have an impressive gig history to date. These include: Bloodstock metal festival, Donington Moto Grand Prix, Clive Aid (Both London and Birmingham benefit gigs for Clive Burr of Iron Maiden), Dames of Darkness, Damsels of Destruction, The Patriot Games (supporting O/D's Saxon) and most recently Hard Rock Hell. The later was achieved by being selected and nominated for a short list of 12 bands and was voted in the top two. Last month Hanging Doll also won 'Best band of 2009' against 16 other European bands, with the Spanish publication 'Femalemetal.com'. The release of their album 'Reason and Madness' had rave reviews and with their 2nd album due in the new year 2012 looks to have a promising start.
