Biography

Pergana was born as a solo project of the keyboardist Adrian Benegas in 2008.

Everything started when, having all the musical ideas, melodies and lyrics done, Adrian Benegas felt it was the time to enter the studio. After the first half of 2008, Adrian talked to Alex and Oliver Holzwarth about having them in for some demos. (Pergana was still a project back then). They liked the songs and the idea, so they started working together.

In the beginning of 2009, the project became a band when the guitarist Mauro Mercado and singer Audrey Laure came along with the very same ideas, goals, music influences and dreams Adrian always had for his project. The next step they took was to find an artistic producer. They chose to work with Aldo Benegas (Adrian's brother). Together they agreed that the songs needed classical orchestration, and with this, the production process begun.

The recordings started with the drums and bass at Permalude Production Studios in Munich (Germany), and then they chose Verdes Studios in Asunción (Paraguay) to record the guitar, keys and vocal lines. The engineering work was in charge of Claus Walde and the recording process took 10 days.

The band loved the results, and decided to release one of the songs as a single.

The Frozen Heart single was released in November 2010, receiving outstanding acceptance in the local press. This single was enough to get an extended interview in the main Rock/Metal Radio in Paraguay.

In the beginning of 2011, they decided to release the EP digitally. Once the EP was released on June 20 of 2011, Pergana received a lot of good comments, excellent reviews and critics allowed Pergana to sound in some radios from America and Europe.

After that, in 2012, the singer Audrey step aside for personal reasons and due to that situation; Pergana was forced to stop the activities.

After a long time looking for an appropriate singer, Adrian Benegas met Angela Aquino in June 2015. Adrian was surprised with her voice so he invited her to join Pergana. After that, Matt Martinez joined as the new guitar player, replacing Mauro Mercado who took a different musical direction forming his own band.

After working on the new songs, Pergana decided to enter the studio again, so they hired Seba Ramirez to record the drums. Since then, everything went fast and smooth and the result of the good vibe into the project was the completion of a new EP. All the recording process took place at BlindOwlStudio and the production, mixing and bass recordings was in charge of Aldo Benegas. The Mastering was made by Mika Jussila and the artwork designed by Jonas Jödicke.

When the production process ended, the band was in love with the new material. To introduce the new line up they released a single called "Return to Innocence" on November 5, 2015.

After the single received a lot of good comments and reviews, Pergana release their new EP called "The Visit" on November 10, 2015 in digital format on all the major online digital stores.
