Luna Field - Biography

Biography

1998
It is only the will that wings the hard road of life and the same will uncompromisingly shapes the bands´ way heading forward. In 1998 - with the one will in mind - B. Rakidzija (vocals), H. Krahl (guitars), M. Sirac (guitars), A.Palma (bass, ex-Lanfear) and D. Sandvoss (drums) give birth to LUNA FIELD - a band that from now on will stand for a new dimension of the extreme.

1999
Every great deed requires to be occupied with intensively before its realization: therefore 1999 is spent to locate the bands´ foundations and pillars: the basic foundation is found in the common will, the pillars in the combination of militant Death Metal and atmospheric Black Metal - the giant LUNA FIELD can be raised!
After about one and a half years of intense work the band presents their work for the first time and during all the following shows it becomes clear that LUNA FIELD are ready to improve their demands of an effective live show steadily.

2000
During the next two years several songs were written which tended towards more extreme and technically demanding areas. A momentous style was created by the frontmans´ as well high as low vocal-pitches that give LUNA FIELD a special shape.

2001
After various shows LUNA FIELD develop to an extreme live-act being on a constant search for an imposing live-performance (using pyrotechnics...).
In fall 2001 the band finally concentrates on the production of their debut album "Close To Prime" ( recorded at Beside Studios ).

2002
In 2002 LUNA FIELD sign a deal with well known French label SEASON OF MIST which host bands like Mayhem, Carpathian Forest or Macabre.
The following years LUNA FIELD gain experience during several shows all over Germany and due to positive reactions the band plays support-shows for acts like Belphegor, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Mucupurulent, Soul Demise or Mystic Circle.

2003
LUNA FIELD raise the number of live performances and continously work on new song material.
Due to personal differences the band parts with the drummer in early 2003 but soon finds Tomasz Janiszewski (ex-Disinfect); he accustoms very well, represents the bands´ common aims and turns out to be a real enrichment for LUNA FIELD.
In fall 2003 the conception and songs for a new album are already worked out.
In late 2003 LUNA FIELD get in touch with renowned photographer Katja Piolka (Atrocity, Leaves´Eyes) and cover the theoretical framework with practical arrogance - preparations for the second album are running on full speed...

2004
In April the band enters MASTERSOUND studio of the infamous A. Krull (ATROCITY, BELPHEGOR) to record their new album entitled "Diva". The result is a massive production of astonishing and raging riffing, merciless drumming and exquisite songwriting combined with perversion and decadence! The new death-metal overlords of extremity have risen?

2005
The band signs a deal with the mighty BLACK LOTUS RECORDS and "Diva" sees the light of day in June 2005 to general acclaim. Unfortunately, after various problems (cancelled tour, the closing down of Black Lotus Records...) the band takes a short break in 2006. Luna Field is now in the process of writing new material for the upcoming album and in search of a new label.
