After their successful debut 'Thrash Notes' German Thrash Metal Maniacs Abandoned are delivering the successor, simply entitled THRASH YOU! Guess what - it´s 2007 and the Bay Area is alive and kicking. Not exactly in San Francico, but South of Hessen in Germany - God bless Abandoned!
Think of the best times of old school Thrash Metal, damn strong material like Testament & Slayer in their prime! Imagine what Exodus or Heathen's classics would sound with the recording possibilities of the new millenium! This is what Abandoned's second album "Thrash You!" is about. Heavy Metal with tons of attitude and aggression! If their debut "Thrash Notes" in 2006 stubbed you already in the butt, the follow-up "Thrash You!" is now a complete kick in the ass: down-picking guitars with sharp-as-a-knife riffing, tight breaks and neckbreaking tunes.
A brief History:
Founded in 1999 by Holger Ziegler (guit.) and Eric "Kalli" Kaldschmidt (voc./guit.) to challenge their heroes of the 80's, they were quickly joined by Konrad Cartini (drum) and Günt Auschrat (bass). Quickly the first demo "Forcefed" was followed up by "Misanthrope" in late 2003. The reactions of fans and press were overwhelming. ?Misanthrope" was named ?Demo of The Month" by Rock Hard Magazine/Germany in April/2004. After winning 2005's SIMeVIL talent award, Abandoned prove to be one the best festival acts of the year. Along with many other successful shows, they played Rock Hard Open Air, Wacken Open Air, Earthshaker Open Air and Trash 'em All, only to name the biggest of them and finally inked a deal with Dockyard 1, who released their debut "Thrash Notes" in 2006.
To spread the Thrash Notes, Abandoned played several live shows and festivals. And finally you can hear on record what they proved live: Abandoned play pure Thrash Metal as it is meant to be - fast, in your face and headbanging fun!
