King Diamond - Trivia

King Diamond is originally from Denmark but has resided in Dallas, Texas for many years.
King Diamond has been concentrating on his solo band in recent years, while members and ex-members of Mercyful Fate and King Diamond have been concentrating on their new band, Force Of Evil.
King Diamond's wife Livia Zita performs additional vocals for the band, both on record and onstage.
Gene Simmons of KISS filed a lawsuit against King Diamond in the late '90s, claiming King Diamond's face paint design closely resembled his own (which he had registered as a trademark). The lawsuit was eventually dropped. King Diamond later commented "...even a child could tell that my makeup wasn't similar to Gene's".
At Ozzfest 2008, King Diamond performed a cover of Pantera's "A New Level" along with Vinnie Paul of Pantera, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Max Cavalera of Soulfly, and Nick Bowcott of Grim Reaper.
King Diamond frequently uses a microphone handle made to resemble a tibia bone connected to a femur bone, which, when positioned correctly, forms an upside-down cross. In the early-to-mid 1980s, he also used a human skull named "Melissa", after the Mercyful Fate album, which was stolen while he was on tour in the Netherlands.
King Diamond's fifth album The Eye is about witch trials, and some part of the story is true! It took place during the French inquisition (1450-1670). Most of the characters are real and from that period of time.
King Diamond's real name is Kim Bendix Petersen.
