Melissa Ferlaak auditioned for season 6 of "American Idol" and appeared briefly on the February 7, 2007 episode entitled "Auditions: Rest of the Best." A short clip of Ferlaak's audition in front of Simon, Randy and Paula was shown as montage of the more bizarre auditions for that season. She did not continue on to the top 24.

Melissa Marie Ferlaak Koch is married to Wolfgang Koch, the former guitarist of Visions of Atlantis. The couple married on May 3, 2008.
