On March 2012, the band won the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards for Lifetime Artistic Achievement.
Rush's sales statistics place them third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band. Rush also ranks 79th in U.S. album sales, with 25 million units.
Neil Peart appears as an animated character in "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters".
The song "One Little Victory" from the album Vapor Trails is featured as one of the EA tracks in the 2002 popular racing game "Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2" in both instrumental and studio versions.
Drummer/lyricist Neil Peart lost his teenage daughter Selena in a car accident on August 10, 1997. Ten months later, on June 20, 1998, his wife of 22 years Jaqueline Taylor passed away after a battle with cancer.

At Selena's funeral Neil told the band to "consider me retired" and took over three years to return to performing with the group. He married photographer Carrie Nuttall on September 9, 2000.
In addition to his profession as a musician, Neil Peart is also a prolific writer, being the author of several published travelogues.
Alex Lifeson is of Serbian descent, and his real name is Aleksandar ?ivojinović (Alexander Zhivojinovich). His assumed stage surname, Lifeson, is a loose translation of his Serbian surname "Zhivojinovich", which roughly translates as "Son of life", or "Life's son" in English.
Geddy Lee's parents were Jewish refugees from Poland and had been survivors of Nazi concentration camps Dachau and Bergen-Belsen during World War II.
All three current members of Rush are Officers of the Order of Canada.
