Yeah, that's right, I'm the only canadian metalstormer that's gonna be at the show. France will never know what hit them.

funny
Don't take my comment too seiously
But I just can't stand people that whine about certain bands being there.
And IMO (and that of many others as well) bands such as NOFX do have a place at a festival such as Hellfest. Remember that before it was Hellfest it was called Furyfest and there was a lot more hardcore programmed then there is nowadays |
| Completely right. I was at the Furyfest 2005 at Le Mans and a lot of hardcore bands were programmed (and few punk bands too). Now the hardcore and metal edition are separated events. |

Ok, you all know the runing order already but now you can see it on our Hellfest Page too!
I hope that it will be helpful for some of you |

aaah, now we get to dispair over the clashes that affect us.. hahaha
there's a few clashes in there I don't like.. but at least there's nothing too serious.. |

Yeah but anyway, since that you're in the press team, you'll probably miss some gigs...
Life is hard I know! |

Thanks for the printable version. For each of us, it will be a good help to realize our personalized program.
(for lazy people, the Running_Order.pdf (as Jeff said it above) can be directly downloaded here). |

| Are there other people who cannot come and are tortured by the tremendous programm? It's really horrible to miss such an event! |

The most tremendous thing I gonna miss about this festival are the guys who are gonna be there |
do you mean the bands? if yes, of course (aaaaargh, Dimmu Borgir!!!!)
or do you mean the metalheads going there? |
I actually meant the metalheads. The bands I care about I have either seen already or am going to see at another festival in the course of the year, save for Ministry, Benighted and Anaal Nathrakh perhaps. Being from Germany I am rather spoiled with festivals, but less so with fellow Metalstormers. |
Helloween, Gamma Ray, Sonata Arctica, Slayer, In Flames, Iced Earth!! Why there aren't events like this in my fucking country?!
i won't come this yeat ( and there are so mamy bands i'd like to see |
| Well, I'll prehaps success in coming for the first day... hope so! |
| damn what a great line up |

Two weeks! I've booked my train tickets and will be arriving in Clisson on Thursday evening (with a bunch of MSers). That's gonna be great |
hopefully we can all meet up some time on the Thursday then - I hope we can all get around the same area in the camp site.
that way if I get lost, I can ring you again wrath. hahahahahaha |

I don't see why, at least the MS team shouldn't be at the same place at the camping. That's not Graspop I don't think that it will be hard for you to be together.
But of course people who're not from the team but want to be with MS people should contact us here to see how they can join us.
Edit: maybe that we can try to contact via email all the people who are in the list to see if they want to be in the meeting or not? |

Ok, so we're about 30 to be certain we will be there! What about the others?
And for those who are definitely going, send me a PM so we know how to get in contact once there (most of the Elites and Staff will be hanging together)! |

Meteo France says the weather's gonna be nice all the week end. I think it proves weather forecasts should be trusted for no reason |

If Meteo France is sure, no problem, it will be rain during the 3 days
Anyway see you on friday, with or without K-way |

So how was the first day? do they have Internet there? |
| How was Carcass's performance??? |
SO ?? How was it??? Are you still alive guys? |
The Carcass' performance was really good for me, as At The Gates, Slayer and a lot of other bands.
See Carcass at Hellfest was a great moment and my last concert of the first day. Then, I was out of doors before the first second of Venom's show |
I did stay until the third Venom song, with Momo and ylside
Seriously, a good band but we were so tired - and mostly because of all the great bands we could see on the first day!
The second day was excellent too, the third was (for me) not as good as the others but still, nothing to be unhappy about.
A few fact:
- this time the weather was hot and sunny, except for some light rain pouring down on saturday (during Cavalera Conspiracy) and sunday night.
- the organisation was way better than last year! Still, no showers, but you can hardly blame them on that given all the efforts they made. It's like they listened to all the complaints and even went further.
- the schedule was tight and top-notch, no delays, etc.
- Evile and Necrophagist cancelled... too bad, they were almost the only bands I really wanted to see on the Discovery stage (the small one that is).
To sum up: |

Yeah, Venom... Black Metal (the first song they played) was good, typically Venom (as in 'take it or leave it'). But after, the second one was new. And, sorry to said, boring.
On a general side, Wrath summed it up. Great great great great
Highlights : Alchemist, Septic Flesh, Testament, Carcass, Sodom, Ministry, Cavalera Conspiracy, Ghost Brigade, Primordial, At The Gates, Morbid Angel.
But for the details, you'll have to wait for the Official MS report. |

Amazing fest, I was really happy to meet all the MS guys, some of them for the first time. The organization was so much better than last year, the weather was great, and as a bonus I got to interview two bands that I love, which is way beyond cool
And the shows... a lot of them were amazing. Personal highlights:
Friday: Septic Flesh, Testament (maybe the best show of the week end for me), Carcass
Saturday: Benighted, Anathema, Iced Earth, Anaal Nathrakh, Watain
Sunday: Between The Buried And Me (close second to Testament in terms of ass-kickage), Origin (in my top 3 as well, and probably the most brutal show I've ever seen), The Ocean, At The Gates, My Dying Bride, Morbid Angel
Personal letdowns:
The beer was weak as piss, I missed Primordial, Slayer was not very good (as usual) and Evile got cancelled without warning. Only stuff I can live with. In other words, this fest was a blast! |

The beer was weak as piss last year as well. Clearly festival beer of 1.5% at most why do you i think I didn't get drunk on beer last year, cause it was impossible.
And Slayer kicked major ass last year (but I think that was the first night so you weren't there yet) |

Well, actually it was possible to find some "Couilles de loup" beer in the festival crew area. It was cheaper and a LOT better hehe
I will try to come back later with words about the festival, but seriously no letdown for me this year, it was one of the best festival that I've ever attended! |
| OMG, "wolf balls" ("Couilles de loup" for the non French speaker)!!!! I didn't knew that thing!!! |

Neither did I.
About Slayer, they played two songs, stopped for a minute, then same thing. And Araya clearly wasn't good this night. |

Yeah I heard that from a friend of mine who went as well. Seems like they were a lot better last year. |

yes they were, no doubt about it |

yep yep. way way way better last year - they surprised me last year but kind of mildly entertained me this year.
oh well, it was such a good festival - highlights for me aside interviewing and being in the photo pit, etc. were Morbid Angel - wow! I have wanted to see these guys for a LONG time. Ministry was also really really good!!
Mayhem were great too!! I have some really funny pictures of Attila. hahaha
Of course Dying Fetus, Krisiun, Origin and Septic Flesh were all great too.. and Helloween & Gamma Ray.
Can't wait to get everything online!! |
