If so then only because they sealed the festival ground at some point. I've later spoken to people who desperately wanted to get in and were kept out because it was air-tight all the way. |

The actual festival ground is by far not big enough to hold 75k people. So ticket or no ticket, if they decide it's unsafe to let more people onto it there's not much anyone can do. So be quick when it comes to the big bands |

they said they're gonna move the site to a bigger site this year, so hopefully they'll have enough room.. anyway since i'm gonna be spending most of my day in the beer garden/WET stage/in the field in front of the main stages and since everyone complains about the line-up they're gonna just be playing football or watching the wrestling/whatever so i won't be left outside
plus since i'll be arriving at like 5:00 AM on the 29th(way before the actual start of the festival) i'm gonna pitch my tent like really close to the entrance so i don't have to walk a lot |

| Yeh, Blind Guardian in 2007 was some experience. I was in quite a bad spot and couldn't see them too well, but the music and the sheer number of people singing along to those songs was just amazing. |

| I am so disapointed with this year of Wacken.I will not go,i am selling my tickets!!!!! |
|
|
|
I can't believe what this year wacken brings to us...THIS IS ABSOLUTE SHIT!! true u can find 5 to 10 bands that are good but 60 other are sooooo not wacken...wtf look at the last years wacken or at the 2007 year, that was wacken not this!! I'm selling my ticket too and so does my friends, if someone else don't confirm that would make me go. I was thinking : "Hey it's 20 years it will be good let's buy tickets" we got there in the last moment and got the tickets (we were happy as hell) and what do I get for 130 euros A BIG DILDO TO STUCK IT IN SOMEONES ASS!! I just regret the thing that i didn't see the metal camp it's 1000 times better. Just go on the site of metal camp and you will see who is there And what were we all thinking they sold their tickets in December...now they can bring cocksucking bands they have their money. I think that they won't sell next year tickets so fast! |

Heh, 5th Avenue(the first headliner of the festival) just got confirmed, pretty cool, and LOL @ the news posted:
The whole audience sang and swayed to their hit "Do you want my love?" at the latest. The concert even made a couple having sex in a calm corner of the festival area. If the music of "5th AVENUE" is able to cause such reactions…
..and this was waay before the festival was in a 100000 sq. meters area |

Uncalled for. Wacken is not that good a place to get laid anyway, except if you bring your girl/boyfriend with you. |

Well then you just have to find one who has a tent outside the press area or one who have access to the press area |

Then camp where everyone else camps. |
|

Well that's not easy because when you've checked as press, the way into the festival for press is in the back end, so I don't actually go through the other campsites. I would need to carry my tent, etc. through the whole arena to get there.
I'm not complaining though. Both sides have ups and downs. |

What do you mean it's not that easy? Piece of pie, you just take the normal entrance, put up your tent and everything is fine, just that you have another wristband than everyone around you. And there's also another way from the press area to the campsites which doesn't go through the festival site. |

well, i don't know if Slayer would have accepted to do a third consecutive summer of playing european festivals, it would have been nice sure, but for them it could have been a bit redundant, and i'm not surprised(nor do i blame them) for touring the US during the summer.
what i am pissed off at is Saxon's announcement that they're gonna play just one song from each album(which means that for Denim and Leather it's gonna be Princess of the Night vs. the title track, and i love both songs to death)
other than that it's looking pretty cool imo, i'm looking forward to the Wacken Anthem(We Are the Metalheads), Running Wild's last gig, and all the other bands of course |

OKay one more time...
Thin Lizzt without Phil Lynnott is NOT Thin Lizzy. Phil defined Thin Lizzy's sound and was the singular most important member of the band.
i know why you would say that, but still i believe it's as Freddie Mercury said: the show must go on, saying that even though they may be gone the surviving band members should perpetuate their music and shit...
Criss and Jon Oliva once made a pact kind of like this |

more info: alejandro.srk@gmail.com |

37 days until Wacken which means 36 days until I'm on holidays |

The running order(with hours) has been published on the site
http://www.wacken.com/uploads/media/Wacken_runing_order_ts_25062009_agl3_printable_01.pdf
my only complaints are that the WOA Metal Battle Romania winner(which is X-plod, a band made up entirely of kids) clashes with Nevermore, Hammerfall plays only one hour and Thin Lizzy clashes with Running Wild.. anyway i wasn't hellbent on Thin Lizzy and Hammerfall still plays some good stuff live these days so i'm not really complaining.
as for good stuff... the second day looks like an awesome 8 hour metal-marathon for me, then 1 hour and a half of SAXON on the last day and then Korpiklaani/Gwar! awesome ending! |
|
|
|
| Only 1 hour of Machine Head? Boo! |

they were only last year, but they had to cancel at the last moment so they're back this year
i quite like their non-metalcore stuff so i'm not complaining, excellent guitar work, too bad the vocals and lyrics are so cheesy, though they are really catchy sometimes. |

They aren't. The statement says: "I can only apologize to everyone who has supported us over the years, but we will be back up to full speed soon." So it't a break from live duty at best. |

I actually wish that this abomination calling themselves Thin Lizzy would also stop, cause now they taint the glorious legacy left behind by Phil Lynott.
Why don't they just call themselves Thin Lizzy Tirbute Band or something along those lines? |

I actually have quite a number of bands in mind to whom that could also apply. And none seem to either realize or care. Pity for all those great names... |

why the hell does everyone spell Stratovarious? it's STRATOVARIUS, STRATOcaster + stradiVARIUS!
anyway i don't care for this since RUNNING WILD is gonna be one of my main interests in the whole festival and they're playing at the same time. |
