This line-up don't deserve to be called paganfest..
Last year there were 5 great bands and now there are only 2 (Klaani and Alestorm). If Dalriada was the special guest again it can rise a bit but anyway not too strong.. :/
I'm not sure I'll be there though I was looking forward to this tour very much. It depends on the new albums and that I can see them during the summer.
And what the fuck is Ex Deo?! I've never heard of this band...

It's indeed a pretty lame line up... I was actually hoping Paganfest 2 becoming a mix of some strong and well known Folk/Pagan/Viking Metal bands and some underrated ones who need the promotion. Ex Deo is a brand new Death metal band who's theme is the Roman empire, sounds awesome right?! well not if you know who's behind it..... it's a sideproject of Maurizio Iacono of Kataklysm. Even tough there is just one demo track on there myspace I think it's already enough to say it's going to become crap. Since it sounds exactly like new Kataklysm only this time with keyboards. Oh yeah almost forgot, you just got to love how Nuclear Blast totally dominates this fest....

Btw, Maurizio Iacono is the manager of Rock The Nation America and has both his bands on Nuclear Blast's roster, so it ain't much of a surprise to see so many NB bands on a RTN tour.


Anyway, the lineup does suck save for Die Reiter, and Ex Deo might turn out quite interesting actually. I'll probably skip the Frankfurt gig and drive down to Stuttgart. Einherjer as special guest will probably make that gig worth its money

Btw, Maurizio Iacono is the manager of Rock The Nation America and has both his bands on Nuclear Blast's roster, so it ain't much of a surprise to see so many NB bands on a RTN tour.

But listen to NILE too, because they use egyptian folk music in very technical death metal, so someway they interested in folk too:) And Karl Sanders has a solo project where he plays worldmusic with varial folk musical instruments! That's interesting too!:)

Actually this line up is mixed of folk and death metal bands, as unleashed, ex deo are death, die apokalyptischen reiter is death/folk, korpiklaani, alestorm and dalriada are folk.swashbuckle is meaningless (btw it is trash...so...no comment..yeah they are pirate stuff as well, but fuck off )
