15:03 - Cynic Metalhead From the review of Kylsea's Ultraviolet : ""If you don't like this pun you can F.O.A.D because it's brilliant." What? it's not even a pun. stupid SoxCar Silly.
13:22 - Zaphod @Lit. And yet people keep giving them attention...
12:13 - Jaeryd17 Just got back from the Opeth concert in Tucson, AZ. Good good good good good good. Good.
10:16 - Spirit Molecule Cool review Willy, I'm still giving the album a couple more spins online. I think there are some cool parts but overall it didn't do much for me. But heck, the production is awesome. Got this nice big sound with all the layers
08:41 - Lit. >Implies they weren't already the scum of the earth before.
08:14 - huascaman [link] ...Picketing a funeral? --- these baptists have officially transcended human garbage status.
07:38 - Moose Revocation's upcoming fifth studio album will be self-titled I see. I really dislike when bands do that. Oh well, still very much looking forward to it.
Written by Lit. on 06.12.2012 at 19:30 I can think of a lot of bands that suck and don't belong here. I'm sorry to say Muse ain't one of them.
They definitely do not belong here... But yeah, they don't suck. The only reason I can think about this event being featured here is due to personal reasons from a certain person and nothing else.
There's an upside to this though! Thanks to this chat about Muse I remembered that it had been quite a while since I listened to them so I spinned Showbiz today. Very cool album.
Muse has been utter sh*t over their last 2-3 albums. If this event had been posted back during the days of symmetry or absolution, I wouldn't have minded really.
Muse's vibe actually has some common ground with metal but I would never call it anything but alternative rock. They explore dark themes, rebellion, and are heavy in their own way.
Written by Marcel Hubregtse on 12.12.2012 at 00:50 Now get the fuck back on-topic and start moaning that it's a fucking disgrace that this event is supported by Metal Storm
It's a fucking disgrace that this event is supported by Metal Storm.
It's a fucking disgrace hip and cool that this event is supported by Metal Storm.
EDIT : Seriously, I don't see why this is a big deal.
Like I said might as well start supporting gigs by Coldplay, Radiohead, Blur, Lady Gaga
Come on now, Muse has a lot more to their music than those bands and I don't see why Les Discrets can be supported for example but Muse not. I'm not saying they should be featured but as far as supporting concerts, it's not that big a deal !

Les Discrets shouldn't be supported either. And how does Muse have more metal to them than the band I mentioned? And Muse is just a mix of Radiohead with Electric Light Orchestra, not more...

I didn't say more Metal, I just said "more"
I meant that Muse's music, although not Metal at all, doesn't seem weird being supported here (at least for me)

well, considering some people who support this event sometimes get their panties in a knot when I, or someone else, talks about supporting some hard rock (which, remember, was called metal back when they bands first appeared) bands by making them visible I find it totally weird because those bands ahve much more in coomon with MS than bands such as Muse.
Well... I see no problem of Les Discrets being here. I have a problem with Muse because you can at least get some strong connections with Les Discrets but Muse?
That's just fucking random.
People enjoyed reading about God Is An Astronaut, Beardfish, Fu Manchu and Dredg, and nobody complained when the respective events were supported. I personally am looking forward to Ivor's write-up.
I dunno... If there's a line of what MS supports and what not. This definitely crossed it. Sometime we get this borderline bands which are cool since it can be interesting for metalheads but this is way off.
Welp, difference of opinions... Can't help but just disagree. Nothing personal against the band or anyone else. It's not like it takes off my sleep. If it gets featured, fine... if not, then fine. It'll just be hella wrong or should I say "worse" considering other events although other events had at least a connection to metal even if it was slight, this has none.. It'll be an interesting read though! That's for sure.

I'm thinking the same thing. Black Holes and Revelations was okay, but The Resistance only had a couple good songs on it. I didn't even buy the 2nd law, and I should probably give it a full listen, but from the tracks I heard, it doesn't sound that great either. Absolution and the two before it were their best.
Some bands get better as they go, some end up having their best stuff early on and get shitty in their later days. Muse is one of those latter bands.
