01:28 - !J.O.O.E.! In terms of story there's no need to. The gameplay is mostly identical too. Demon's Souls just has a different atmosphere, isn't open world and generally is shorter.
01:28 - Zaphod No Dark Souls isn't a sequel to Demon's Souls, it's not even in the same universe. The stories have nothing to do with each other. I'd still suggest playing Demon's Souls first though, since it's awesome.
01:26 - Mattybu should I play Demon Souls before Dark Souls? I bought it impulsively cause it was on the cheap but is the story more rewarding if I start from the start
01:26 - Clintagram Yeah, checkpoints would cut out about half the play time of a game. Taking fifteen minutes to return to a boss everytime I die is a little tedious.
01:25 - Zaphod And, by the way, they made the swamp in Dark Souls totally easy with that one ring.
01:24 - !J.O.O.E.! To be honest most of the difficulty in Dark Souls 1 can be circumvented by getting a good great shield and tanking behind it. Thankfully that tactic probably won't get you through Dark Souls 2 so easily.
