20:40 - !J.O.O.E.! I really doesn't take all that long I've found. I assume because it's indexed and runs in the background whenever you open the program. It hides duplicates too which is handy, as I have shit loads of duplicated songs etc on my PC.
20:38 - Alex Fenger That's pretty cool, I didn't know spotify did that. But again, I have way too much clutter on my computer for a HDD scan to be effective. I guess if it was targeted that would be easier
20:37 - !J.O.O.E.! I've never owned anything that wasn't drag & drop. One of the reasons I like Spotify is it keeps track of my harddrive music even if I move it. As long as it's set to scan in the right locations. I don't use the mobile version tho
20:36 - Alex Fenger ....would take hours on a standard HDD
20:34 - Alex Fenger To my knowledge that's how every third-party mp3 player works. I'm not sure if there are any applications for playing music that constantly check the location of your files. Especially when I have 2TB of shit and scanning that
20:29 - Alex Fenger The things you see in your iTunes library are just links to the original location of the file on your comp. When you move it, the link checks the original spot for the file, can't find it, and gives you an error
20:28 - !J.O.O.E.! Can you not set it to scan your hard drive, like Spotify does?
As hinted before, Metal Blade Records has announced that Jordan Mancino (drums), Nick Hipa (guitar), Phil Sgrosso (guitar) and Josh Gilbert (bass) of San Diego based metal act As I Lay Dying have teamed up with vocalist Shane Blay (previously lead guitar/clean vocals in Oh, Sleeper) to create the new band Wovenwar. That's As I Lay Dying minus Tim Lambesis. Over approximately the last year, the band completed work on new material recorded with producer Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag) with mixing duties currently being handled by Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Machine Head, Trivium). For now, you can enjoy a small teaser below.
UPDATE: It seems like there are new chapters to this story. After an update was posted on As I Lay Dying official website, now it has been revealed by the band's other members that it was not discussed within the band or with the management, implying the statement was released only by Tim Lambesis. On a message posted on guitarist Nick Hipa's Facebook page, all the members of As I Lay Dying except Tim Lambesis explain that this statement was new to them. Well, that was bizarre.
UPDATE on 10.05.2013: There have been new developments on the Tim Lambesis' case. Remember that he was arrested for allegedly seeking the help of an undercover detective to have his estranged wife killed. UT San Diego is now reporting that he has pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Vista Superior Court to a single count of solicitation for murder. He faces up to nine years in prison if convicted.
