After announcing several guest musicians that will appear on their 7th studio album, Ghostlights, Avantasia have more to share today. The record will be released worldwide on January 29th, 2016 via Nuclear Blast and today Tobias presents the cover and announces the tracklists as well as the various formats in which the upcoming record will be available. Avantasia continue to add new guests to the list of their new album. The German power metal band is working on a new record and have now announced that Marco Hietala will also be a guest on Ghostlights. He is known, of course, as the bassist/vocalist from Tarot and Nightwish. Furthermore, Robert Mason of Lynch Mob and Warrant fame can been confirmed to sing on the new album as well. "We're Not Gonna Take It", "I Wanna Rock", "The Kids Are Back"... There's hardly any rock fan around the globe who isn't familiar with the big hits Twisted Sister, whose frontman Dee Snider is going to appear on the new Avantasia album Ghostlights (out on January 29th, 2016). Besides Tobias Sammet, vocalists who have been confirmed for the new chapter of the Metal Opera are Geoff Tate (ex-Queensrÿche, Operation: Mindcrime), Jorn Lande, Bob Catley (Magnum) and Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween, Unisonic). More singers are going to be announced soon.
Two more singers have been confirmed as guests on the new Avantasia record in the works. On January 29th, the band's 7th studio album Ghostlights will hit the stores. After Jørn Lande, other guest stars have been announced: Operation: Mindcrime vocalist Geoff Tate as well as former Helloween and current Unisonic vocalist Michael Kiske. Michael Kiske will not only appear on the album, he will also join Avantasia on the Ghostlights world tour 2016.
Last month, Tobias Sammet announced that he was working on a new Avantasia album to the delight of fans. The new album and a world tour will come in 2016 but there is more. The first guest vocalist for the new Avantasia album and tour has now been announced. None other than singer Jørn Lande (Masterplan, Jorn, Allen/Lande) will appear on Ghostlights (out in January).
As it turns out, fans of Avantasia won't have to wait that long for the follow-up to The Mystery Of Time. In fact, in January 2016, Avantasia are going to release the sequel to The Mystery Of Time. The next chapter of the saga will be called Ghostlights. After an Edguy album last year, Tobias Sammet has been keeping himself busy. Things have been quiet around Avantasia's camp. But now AFM Records is taking a trip down memory lane and the band's milestone albums The Metal Opera Part I and The Metal Opera Part II will be reissued as picture vinyls. April 17th will see the release of these albums for the first time ever as 180g double picture vinyl editions limited to 1000 units worldwide.
