Crystal Eyes - Announce Guitarist Change

Swedish power metallers Crystal Eyes have welcomed the return of Niclas Karlsson to the band. They revealed the following update, regarding the recent guitarist changes: "Paul is out of the band and we're ready for another chapter. We're now extremely happy to welcome back Niclas Karlsson and are looking forward to once again share the path of Heavy Metal with this great guitarist. If you know your Crystal Eyes's history you know that Niclas started the band with Mikael in 1992, quit the band after short break in 1995, got back between 2006-2007 and has played with Mikael in the Judas Priest tribute band Defenders Of The Faith since the dawn of time."

Crystal Eyes - Working On New Album

Swedish metallers Crystal Eyes have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"We've been getting a lot of questions lately about the status of Crystal Eyes so here it is: We're still alive and somewhere in the middle of the songwriting process for the 7th album. It's far too early to talk about release dates but since the speed and the Halford screams are back in the new songs it will be worth the wait.

If you want to see Crystal Eyes live don't miss the gig in Borås in Sweden on the 24th of April. We're hoping to announce some more dates soon."

Crystal Eyes - Part Ways With Singer

Crystal Eyes have posted the following message on their official MySpace page:

"Recently Nico let us know that he didn't have the time to play live with Crystal Eyes anymore so we've decided to carry on as a four piece band. This is how we've been rehearsing all the time and the only change is that Mikael is once again doing the lead vocals.

Mikael - "The reasons I once handed over the lead vocals are just not there anymore, and since I wrote all vocal melodies for my voice it wasn't a big step to be the lead singer once again. I actually never stopped singing. I've been the singer of the Judas Priest tribute band "Defenders Of The Faith" the whole time, recorded all the vocals for Crystal Eyes' demos, backing vocals on the albums, and of course the lead vocals on the closing song on our three last albums."

We've put up two of those songs in the second player a bit down at http://www.myspace.com/crystaleyesfromsweden "Guardian" and "The Halls Of Valhalla". Plus an edited medley of the demo recordings of "Chained" featuring Mikael on lead vocals. (The vocals on the demo recordings are first takes with no real lyrics. Just random "Heavy Metal words".) You may also find some other surprises in this new player."
