06:42 - psykometal So, like a Body Count thing? :P
04:57 - 3rdWorld Dayum, Death Grips begin their latest record with a thrash hip hop track. Sounds really awful in words but they really do make it work.
04:54 - 3rdWorld I really thought it could be from the 80's but damn thats a '12 record. Nice artist but that doesn't count out Kendrick for me.
04:45 - Apothecary Which makes sense in part, as he is from Zimbabwe by birth (hence Mugabe on that album cover)
04:45 - Apothecary Ehhh... different strokes, but I'd take Billy Woods over Kendrick any day. He is does some of the BEST sociopolitical hip hop out there imo. Profound comments on the effects of imperialism and colonialism
04:42 - 3rdWorld Good alternative hip hop track. Sounds exactly like a precursor to something that Kendrick is doing. :)
01:46 - Apothecary Oh wait, we're still talking about hip hop? Ok, listen to this guy then [link] And preferably check out the lyrics as well, VERY deep and well-constructed

Great news for black metal fans because legendary band Emperor will reform and headline Wacken Open Air 2014 for the 25th anniversary of the fest. The news was announced earlier today at Wacken's press conference which was attended by Ihsahn (Vegard Sverre Tveitan) and Samoth (Tomas Haugen).
The Swedes Dark Funeral are celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2013 with a number of festival shows all over Europe. As the band prepares to praise their diabolic past with a very special setlist on some of the summer festivals (expect more details soon), they announced a surprising return for these shows of their classic vocalist: Emperor Magus Caligula. Meanwhile, the band is also looking for a new permanent vocalist.

After triumphantly headlining the annual Wacken Open Air Festival and their triumphant wrecking of London's Astoria last year, Emperor announce two rare appearances at European festivals this summer:
June 24 Clisson (France), Hellfest (MS Event Page)
June 30 Helsinki (Finland), Tuska Open Air (MS Event Page)
"The demand for further Emperor shows in Europe has been overwhelming", comments guitarist Samoth. "We have been looking at several offers, but have decided to commit to these two festivals. With the success of the festivals we played last year, we're really looking forward to these events"
Please check the official festival-homepages for information on availability of tickets: http://www.hellfest.fr and http://www.tuska-festival.fi.
After triumphantly headlining the annual Wacken Open Air festival in Germany and four capacity performances in America last summer, Norwegian black metal pioneers Emperor have announced their return to the United States for three encore appearances this spring.
"We have made a decision to return to the U.S. for a few additional shows," notes guitarist Samoth. "This time Chicago is also put on the map.
"The shows last summer were very successful and we had an amazing turnout and support from all the fans. It was also a bit stressful because of the embassy hassle that we unfortunately had to endure. So we feel a few more shows are due and this time, all visas are in order and the band will appear in its full command."
After triumphantly headlining the annual Wacken Open Air Festival and completing recent capacity performances in America, Emperor today (09/08/06) announce two additional performances for 2006. Scheduled Saturday, October 7th Emperor will headline the fifth annual Motstoy Festival in the band's hometown of Notodden. Formed in 2002 by local youth and supportive arts organizations, this year's festival will also include appearances by Red Harvest, Mortiis, She Said Destroy, and Pagan's Mind, among others.
"The Motstoy festival is a non-profit organization situated in Notodden that my company Mnemosyne Productions has endorsed since its start in 2002," says vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn. "As it is a no-alcohol arrangement with no age limit, it is a great opportunity for Emperor to play a local show and at the same time give younger fans a chance to see us live." Ticket and sponsorship information can be found at the festival's official site.
Candlelight Records Team have confirmed exclusive autograph signings/in-stores for the upcoming Emperor shows. The shows, announced early December 2005, have been met with much excitement. Two of the performances are already sold out (July 14th's BB Kings performance and July 16th's Key Club performance). Fans are urged to purchase their tickets if they plan to attend soon as few tickets remain.

It's official, EMPEROR have reunited to play some exclusive shows. The band is confirmed to headline the Inferno Festival and Wacken Open air 2006!!!
The band reunited after four years to play a surprise three-song set for Norwegian metal magazine Scream's 15-year anniversary, which took place at Oslo's Rockefeller Sept. 30. 2005. The band took the scene by surprise, performed three tracks — "The Loss And Curse Of Reverence", "I Am The Black Wizards", "Inno A Satana" — and received a rapturous welcome by an ecstatic crowd. Announced as a "big surprise band," the whole arrangement was so secret that neither organizers of the magazine's anniversary party nor the band itself told their closest friends and associates. Anyone that feels they missed out, fear not, next year is when the big events take place. The surprise gig was merely a cool way to "drop the bomb" and create even bigger anticipation for the upcoming shows.
Seminal avant-garde metal pioneers Celtic Frost announce the completion of their new studio album, tentatively titled "Dark Matter Manifest", their first in 13 years and the culmination of some three and a half years of songwriting and recording work. Although the album was largely produced by the band themselves and financed by their own production company, Celtic Frost enlisted Hypocrisy/Pain mastermind Peter Tägtgren to co-produce with them the final recording and mixing sessions at Horus Sound Studio in Hanover, Germany, in August/September 2005. Negotiations with a variety of labels are currently underway, and the album is scheduled for a release in early 2006.
Having declined innumerable reunion show propositions over the years, Celtic Frost once again deemed it essential to manifest themselves creatively with a new album before embarking on the live circuit next year.
Two years ago a meeting took place in Norway. A group of people convened to discuss the possibility of making an album that would impact the world music scene like never before. Some rehearsals took place in 2002 and ideas and plans were thrown back and forth. However, due to prior commitments and time conflicts, the line up was forced to change. But the core of the group maintained the idea and finally, in the fall 2004, the decision was made to make it happen. SCUM was spawned! Scum is a unique project in many aspects; first and foremost its line up is probably the most interesting gathering of people to record an album in a long time...
Casey Chaos (Amen), Samoth (Zyklon, ex-Emperor), Faust (ex-Emperor), Cosmocrator (MindGrinder) and Happy Tom (Turbonegro)
According to www.Bravewords.com, Candlelight Records have set a June 28th release for the reissue of EMPEROR's live DVD, "Emperial Live Ceremony". It's been remastered for better sound, and includes new material such as a photo gallery.
