King's X - Guitarist Facing Medical Issues, European Tour Cancelled

It is with regret that King's X have announced that they will be forced to cancel their upcoming engagements in Europe this autumn, due to an unforeseen medical issue with their guitarist, Ty Tabor. This doesn’t change the three shows of the band in July, as they will be the last ones before the treatments.

King's X - Sign To Inside Out Music / Sony Music

Progressive rock/metal legends King's X just announced via Facebook that they have inked a deal with Inside Out Music/Sony Music Entertainment worldwide. This label will release the band's recently-mastered, still-untitled new album on September 2nd, 2022. It will be King's X's first studio album in 14 years, and it was tracked at Blacksound Studio in California under Emmy Award-winning engineer, mixer, and producer Michael Parnin (Rage Against The Machine, Mark Lanegan). The band will tour Europe this fall to support the record.

King's X - New Album Ready To Be Released This Autumn

Mix Online has reported that the mastering of the long-awaited new album from King's X has been completed and it is ready for a fall 2022 release. Produced by Michael Parnin and mastered by both Bernie Grundman and Pueblo Audio gear designer Scott Sedillo, the still-untitled record will be the band's first studio album since 2008's XV.

King's X - Guitarist Releases Video For New Solo Single

King's X guitarist Ty Tabor has released a music video for "Sister Genocide", the first single from his upcoming 11th solo album Shades, which arrives on March 4th via Rat Pak Records. Shades is not the only record Tabor has in store for this year, however; the long-awaited new album from King's X is expected to arrive before the band heads to Europe this coming September and October.

King's X - Announce European Tour Dates

In support of their upcoming album, which will be their first since 2008's XV, King's X will embark on a full-scale tour of Europe and UK in September and October of next year. The European dates will include support from The Sonic Brewery, while Trope will serve as the opener for the UK leg.

King's X - Mastering New Record

King's X just recently finished work on their long-awaited thirteenth studio album, which will be their first since 2008's XV, and as previously reported, it may not be released until next year when the band is able to tour again. However, frontman and bassist Doug Pinnick tweeted out a short video clip of himself on at the Bernie Grundman Mastering facility in Hollywood, California, where the record is being mastered.

King's X - New Album On Hold

It's been thirteen years since King's X released their last studio album XV. However, in a recent interview with Laughingmonkeymusic, bassist and vocalist Doug Pinnick stated that the long-awaited new King's X record will likely not be released until next year when the band is able to tour again, and added that it could be the last music effort in their career.

King's X - To Start Recording New Album In April

US prog veterans King's X will enter a Los Angeles-area studio in mid-April to begin recording its new studio album. The follow-up to 2008' XV is tentatively due in late 2019 via the Australian independent record label Golden Robot Records and its partners in the US, Europe and Japan. Stay tuned for more.

King's X - Preparing To Work On New Album

King's X haven't released an album since 2008's XV, but drummer Jerry Gaskill recently confirmed to 'The Drum Shuffle' podcast that they are preparing to enter the studio to begin working on their new album, which could be released sometime next year.

Gaskill stated: "We are definitely talking about it, and we are actually making plans. And so, most likely, there will be a new record, possibly even next year." He added that King's X are "always writing" new music, and that he and his bandmates have "gone past the pre-discussion stage" and are now "maybe in the full discussion stage." He explained: "So I think that's kind of where we're at - maybe a little bit past the discussion stage. But there's no time limit, there's no pressure. It will happen when it happens, but? it's gonna happen, and I think soon."

King's X - Drummer Suffers Heart Attack

King's X drummer Jerry Gaskill has suffered a heart attack. The band explains that he will undergo double bypass surgery but is stable. This means, of course, that the progressive group has to cancel all upcoming shows. This is his second heart attack. The first one happened back in February 2012. Best of luck to Jerry Gaskill. Hopefully, he can recover from this.

King's X - Announce New US Tour

US proggers King's X have announced on their official website that the band will return to the North American tour circuit this spring for their first West Coast run in three years. The four-week tour entitled First Church Of Rock And Roll Tour will start on March 28th in Austin, Texas, and extend through April 21st in Denver, Colorado.

King's X - DVD Trailer Online

A video trailer for the King's X new CD / DVD, entiltled Live Love In London, has been made available at this location.

Live Love In London is the first-ever official King's X live DVD and it was recorded in January 2009 at the Electric Ballroom in London. On October 25th, the two-CD version of Live Love In London will be available in-stores everywhere, while the Deluxe Edition featuring both CDs as well as the DVD will be available exclusively through CMDistro.com. The DVD-only edition will be released to stores everywhere on November 23rd. A pre-order is available through CMDistro and fans that order the Deluxe Edition will receive a free autographed poster while supplies last.
